TRIPLE CROWN
Franchize takes 3rd place out of 55 teams at the Triple Crown World Series in Park City, Utah. After taking 3rd in pool, play, Franchize drew a very tough opponent in Powersurge for their first elimination game. Powersurge scored 1 run in the first inning and won 1-0. That game set the tempo for the rest of the tournament. Our pitching and defense were on. We rode the backs of 2 pitchers for the tournament. Hats off to Taylor and Sarah, you girls pitched great the whole weekend. When one got tired, the other came in to pick up the slack. Mookie and Lani, what else can I say but way to stay HOT!!!! Mookie jacked one over the fence and Lani smashed 8 doubles and 4 triples. Not to mention both girls hit over 500 for the tournament. Bubbles, 14 games behind the plate is unbelievable, way to keep the runners honest. Emilie, “baby Shaq”, way to smash the ball, especially when the defense plays in and you take one to the fence. Joc, way to play D and shoot girls down all over the field; but watch out for the fences. Alyssa, another solid tournament, great D and timely hitting, can’t ask for anything more. Amanda way to get the bunts down and make those grabs at 1st. Bre, way to lock down 3rd like you always do, it’s fun watching some of the great plays that you make. Finally to Jordan, way to come in and blend with the team; you came in off the bench and did what was asked of you. Great Job! As a team you were awesome. That Friday was the best ball I ever seen. 6 games in 100+ degree heat is unbelievable. To top it off with the win against Lakewood, most teams would have given up and been happy to win 5, but you girls wanted it. To be at the park at 7AM and to leave after midnight is crazy, and you still had some energy. Your reward for winning Friday was an 8AM game on Saturday. I don’t know how you girls woke up, but you came out fired up and took another game from EV Pride. Now finally the tanks were on empty. We face a great Desert Thunder who ended our run, but what a run it was. We are soo proud of you girls, and the compliments you received from other players, parents, and coaches is unbelievable. Way to represent Franchize style.

AFA Tri-State CHAMPS
Great job this weekend ladies going 6-1 and avenging your only loss to Quicksilver in the championship game. After coming out slow to start the tournament, you girls woke up and crushed the ball the rest of the way. Mookie, way to start it off and get on base for the big guns to hit you in. It must be tough for the other team when we have a leadoff hitter who is roping doubles and triples to start off the game. Mandy, way to get down the bunts and get the key hits when needed. You made contact all weekend and made it easier for the guns behind you to drive in the runs. Lani, what else can I say but way to CRUSH the ball all weekend, not to mention your play at short is getting much better. Bubbles, 4 games behind the plate and only allowed 1 stolen base, way to keep the runners honest. Not to mention your bat was also on fire. Tay-Tay, way to tough it out on the mound pitching in 3 of the 4 games and going the distance in the championship game, great job JELLY. Bug, another one who just CRUSHED the ball all weekend. It is nice to see you improve every weekend, both on offense and on defense. Keep up the hard work because we still expect more from you. Em, way to keep the team up both on and off the field. You made the most of every at bat all weekend, and your defense is continually improving. Joc, way to lock down the outfield and take charge out there. You are finally playing with confidence and gunning down girls at every base. Bre, we told the other teams not to hit to third, but they keep testing you. Way to bring the D, and your stick was not bad also. Alyssa, your D is still improving and you are getting better jumps on the ball, but lets get to the important part; way to drive in the go ahead run against the Cruisers, that was a big hit.
From top to bottom you girls played great, ther was not a weak link in the offense, and the middle of the order is starting to be feared. Pitchers are starting to pitch around them and the bottom of the order is picking them up. As a team, we hit over 500, with 7 home runs and 4 triples. Way to play as a team ladies.
