CHECK IN / TEE_OFF: You must check in and pickup your scorecard 15 minutes before your Tee Time. You must play within your flight’s time block each day. Approximate Tee Time blocks for flights will be posted. The tentative first tee time for the tournament is 8:00 am on Friday, August 22 and 6:45 am on Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24.
FORMAT: Stroke play as governed by USGA Rules of Golf and in particular Rule 3. Exchange score cards with a fellow competitor in your group who will be your marker. Low scratch score in the Championship flight is The “Club Champion” and an automatic member of FHMGC team for CGA Club Team Competition. The Championship flight will pay both gross and net (you can not collect both); other flights awards will be on a net score basis.
TEEING GROUND: Indicated on scorecards. Course combinations are Links-Canyon on Friday, Meadow-Links on Saturday and Canyon-Meadow on Sunday.
TIES: Will be settled by a scorecard play-off as specified in the current USGA Rules of golf, Rule 33-6, and Appendix I, 2 (c ). Stroke Play and Club policy (Last 9, Last 6, Last 3, 18, By Lot).
Rules: If you feel your ball may be OB or lost outside of a hazard, play a provisional ball. If in doubt of a procedure or rule, play a second ball (Must declare in advance which ball will count and report the facts to committee). Read hard card for your options on #6 & #9 Meadows if your Tee Ball may be lost in a hazard. Everyone should observe your fellow competitor’s strokes and his ball’s final location.
Canyon # 5: No flight shall utilize the Drop area on the green side of Canyon # 5 for a ball struck into the hazard between the fairway and green. They may use the drop area cut to the right of the bridge on the tee side of the canyon or all other options available under the water hazard rule 26-1-a or b. They may not enter the hazard since it is marked as ESA (See Hard Card).
Pace of Play: Pace of Play will be enforced! You must finish the front nine in 2 hours and 20 minutes, the eighteen in 4 hours and 45 minutes, or be within 15 minutes of the group in front of you. The policy is on the card distributed with your member’s packet.
RECORDING SCORES: Gross scores must be recorded on scorecard or you are disqualified; subtract handicap from gross score and record net on the appropriate line if you desire. The committee will verify the hole by hole scores and total score.
CLOSEST-TO-THE-HOLE CONTEST: This is an individual competition each day paying $25.00 in ProShop credit.
SKINS GAME: A voluntary $15.00 (championship flight) or $10.00 (other flights) skins game (separate pot each day) is available for each day. Individuals may enter with cash only at the check-in table on the first day (Friday for Championship flight, Saturday for handicapped flights) only. Skins are determined by net better ball score on each hole.
PRIZES
Are in the form of credit in the Prize Book in the Pro Shop. Credits can accumulate through the season, but must be spent by December 31, 2008. (no exceptions).
Prize amounts and distribution is based on number of players and will be posted the day of the tournament.
SCORE CARD PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS
Turn in your score card immediately after completion of 18 Holes.
Sign your scorecard and have it attested.
Record your finish times for the 9th and 18th holes on the score card.
Verify the gross score for each hole. A lower wrong entry will disqualify you.
