HS Season Highlights
F Eli Blauser's Shorecrest team finished 2nd in WesCo south and advanced on to the State quarterfinals.
GKs David Swayne and Riley King helped Nathan Hale to a first-place finish in the Metro League Sound Division, advancing from there to Metro League finalist and a berth in the State Tournament.
Lakeside HS, with Kenny Buyco, Peter Dykstra, and Beno Picciano, won the Metro Tournament and finished number 4 in the State 3A Tournament. Each of the ECFC Ds earned All-League honors.
Finally, F Danny Strome helped drive Mercer Island to the State semi-finals and a 3rd place finish in the State 3A.

Bobby Howe is new ECFC 91 Green Coach
Bobby Howe will assume coaching duties for the BU17 2008-9 season. Howe played professionally as a member of West Ham United in the English Premier League in the 1960s and '70s. He came to the US in 1977 as an assistant with the Seattle Sounders. He later served as Head Coach of the Portland Timbers from 2001-05 and was named A-League coach of the year in 2004 after leading the team to a championship with a record of 18-7-3. Before coaching the Timbers, Howe spent four years as the Director of Coaching Education for the United States Soccer Federation. He edited the USSF's official guide for coaches through six levels of certification combining state and national levels. Prior to that, Howe coached the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team in the 1993 FIFA World Youth Championships. In November 2005, Howe became the Emerald City FC Coaching Director.
