The Drop Zone is a non-profit organization that was founded by a group of individuals, who were looking for an ADVANCED "A" LEVEL ASA softball program for young ladies in the Yuba, Sutter and surrounding areas. DZ is dedicated to teaching and developing young ladies to become not only strong softball players, but to help them to become role models for their peers. DZ prides itself in helping the young ladies to be responsible, respectful and to show courage and sportsmanship on and off the athletic field. DZ expects their players to be student athletes and stresses the importance of academic excellence combined with their love for the game of softball. In 2005 the group formed their first Drop Zone team, this team consisted of young ladies 18 years of age and under. The team competed at the highest level in every showcase and 18 and under tournament they played in, facing the toughest competition in trips to Southern California, and Las Vegas. The organization set out to train and develop the girls, preparing them to preview in front of Division 1 and Division 2 college coaches. The success and the commitment of this group to play and showcase these young and talented athletes has spread throughout the area, and now is expanding to 4 age groups in less than a year. In 2006 the first year 12u team claimed a third place finish in State during the usssa tourney, while the 14's took home a third place finish while playing up in the 16u division. The 14's traveled to ASA West Nationals and were impressive finishing 30th out of more than 90 teams....For the 2007 season, great things have been expected and the DZ gang didn't dissapoint,...the 12's once again finished 3rd in state, and 5th in the western world series, and shocked everyone by claiming the ASA winter championships this November....The 14's tallied 4 championships, and made the finals in 6-8 tourneys, while the 16u team claimed the state and western world titles, coming a strike away from winning the triple crown national championship!!

The DZ continues to experience major growth as we have moved well into the 08 season..The Spring came and the DZ gang had teams in all age groups with 2 temp teams in the 14u division...Every DZ spring team claimed hardware during the spring, and we've now settled in to do some serious damage this summer...Be on the lookout for the Pink and Black coming to a softball complex near you....
