CONGRATS WOLF PACK!! 2008 FPYC Liberty Cup Invitational U13G White Finalists!!
Saturday morning - at the 1st annual FPYC Liberty Cup Invitational - started off pretty chilly... BUT, the Wolf Pack girls warmed up the day with a 1-0 victory over the ASC Eagles!! (Goal made by Kelly) They came back strong after lunch and a matinee to secure a 3-0 win over the SYSA Flame!! (Goals scored by Brittany, Teresa and Dylan)
Sunday started off even earlier than Saturday and seemed even colder, if that's possible. The first game of the day, against the NVSC-Jr. Majestics 94 Blue, ended up a "no score" tie 0-0. Even though no points were scored in this particular game, the girls led the way in total points scored from Saturday, which sent them to the Championship Game against the VBSC Magic. After a VERY competitive game and a great deal of awesome footwork, the Wolf Pack tied the Magic 2-2 (Goals scored by Brittany and Hattie), which sent them into overtime. Due to the lateness of the day and the worry that it was going to get dark on the game following ours, the coaches agreed to break the tie using penalty kicks. The Magic pulled off the win by the skin of their teeth, scoring two penalty kicks to the Wolf Pack's one. (Scored by Kelly) It was an amazing game and the two teams were very well matched.
CONGRATS WOLF PACK!! The 2008 FPYC Liberty Cup Invitational U13G White Finalist Trophies look fabulous!! Congrats to the tournament MVP -- Brittany!!
