Welcome to the Central Springfield Umpires website!
CSLL has successfully completed it's 54th year in large part due to the dedicated volunteer umpires.
I would like to extend a personal thanks to all of you who choose to umpire at CSLL.
BUT, YOUR league desperately needs more volunteer umpires! The league provides a shirt, hat, indicator and brush for all volunteers and there is equipment for everyones use. Our program would not be as successful as it is if it wasn't for the dedication of our volunteer umpires. While other leagues around the nation have succumbed to the need to hire paid umpires, Central Springfield has consistently been blessed with moms, dads, and teens who willingly give up a little more of their free time to provide quality umpires for all our games. This website is dedicated to you, thank you for your support. So set up a link to this site and check back often to see the latest schedule and to get the latest scoop on what's going on in the league!
The slides from the Local Rules Training Session are posted in the HANDOUTS Section. If you have any questions regarding becoming an umpire, training, rules, positioning and mechanics, or any other issue on umpiring, you can use the Message Board to post your questions so others can share in the learning or feel free to send me an email.

They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it's money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game, and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. And the memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh,.. people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.
