Friday, November 14 CSALL 2008 SEASON WRAP-UP The final Fall Ball events in October marked the end of the 2008 season. On behalf of the CSALL Board of Directors, we hope that this Little League season has been a good experience for all of our players and families. The season saw several important happenings: 1. Growth in our league. While many youth sports organizations have seen player rosters declining, our league saw an increase over the prior season. This growth allows us to continue to improve our facilities and make the experience of Little League baseball better each year. 2. Competitive Success. Each of the four tournament teams (Majors Division and above) captured their District championship, an indication of the improvement in skill level of our players. This improvement comes about through the cooperation of Roanoke County Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, Roanoke County Schools, and other baseball-related organizations, training facilities, individual supporters, but most of all the generous support of parents and families by volunteering their time and talents toward the improvement of CSALL. 3. Improvements in Programs for Younger Players. We realize that the players and families in the younger age groups (Tee Ball and Coach Pitch divisions) are the future of our baseball league. We have a plan in place to increase our efforts in this important area in the coming 2009 season, with the purchase of new equipment and training aid specifically for the younger age groups. CSALL strives to provide programs and opportunities for each player to reach his or her goals as a participant. We realize that there is a wide range of expectations in a league with nearly 500 players with ages from 5 through 18. 4. Help from sponsors, and volunteers. Every year sponsors step up and provide generous support in the form of financial help, equipment, food, news media promotion, photography...the list goes on. The generous support received by the league makes the Little League Baseball experience better for our players. Thank you....players, families, coaches, volunteers, and friends for making 2008 a great year for our league. We, the CSALL Board of Directors, would like to hear from you, whether to tell us that you had a good experience with Little League Baseball this past season, or just as importantly, if there are things that went wrong, or could be improved upon. We are sincerely interested in hearing about any shortcomings as well as the "good stuff". We encourage you to send your comments by e-mail to: info.csall@verizon.net or write to us at CSALL P.O. Box 12486 Roanoke, VA 24018 . Each correspondence will be presented the Board of Directors, who will follow-up on each correspondence as neccessary.
