Coach Allen,
Your girls did fantastic in Dacula today. We hope to see you again in the tournament, but don't know how long we will last. Ashley is interested in batting lessons, please send me a note when you get a chance. So cool to run into you, it's a small world. (Did you say Scrambled Dog?)

ATTENTION SOFTBALL COACH'S WHO HAVE PLAYERS INTERESTED IN COLLEGE!
I am writing to inform you of a girls fastpitch softball showcase event to be held at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA on January 26 & 27, 2008. The Southern Star is an individual showcase event and is for any girl of high school age from anywhere in the country who wants to showcase their individual talents in front of college coach's in game situations. This is not an instructional camp. This is strictly an all-star type showcase event to be hosted by South Georgia Softball on the campus of Georgia Southern. Only 140 slots are available and we expect it to fill up fast. College coach's from the surrounding areas of Georgia, SC and Florida are already planning to attend. This is the first such event of this type in this area, so take advantage of the opportunity to showcase your players talents right here in Georgia. The event has been tailor made and designed by college coaches and is in a format that they have asked for. Each team will have a manager and a current college softball player with them at all times to help with the games and to answer questions about the recruiting process and the life of a college softball player.
The web site is www.southernstarsoftball.com .
This is open to current seniors, juniors, sophomores and freshmen who may want to play in college. Space is limited, so apply as soon as possible. Each player will play in 5 games on Saturday night and Sunday. Special arrangements can be made for girls playing high school basketball on the 26th.
Pass this along to your players who may be interested. The deadline to enter is January 10, 2008. Players will be picked and teams will be named by January 15, 2008.
For more information e-mail questions to sgasasoftball@aol.com
On a separate note:
Earlier on Saturday January 26, Natalie Poole and the GSU staff will be holding their annual winter clinic. The Southern Star and the GSU clinic are separate. For information on that event, go to the GSU web site or call Coach Poole at the school.
Thanks,
Ty
