Pitching Lessons by Ben Shockey, GBL Rookie Pitcher of the Year
Ben Shockey is a former Cross Bayou Little League pitcher. He went on to become the top pitcher at Warner Southern College for each of the last two years. After graduating in May 2008, he pitched for the Kansas City Grays of the M.I.N.K. League until he was signed by the Chico Outlaws of the Golden Baseball League.
Ben was honored as the GBL Rookie Pitcher of the Year and is the first reliever to win this award. He made 25 relief appearences for Chico last season, going 3-1 with one save and miniscule 1.40 earned run average, striking out 37 batters in just under 39 innings.
