I just wanted to personally let everyone know that is currently a part or going to be a part of Coon Rapids Football in the coming years that I have known Coach Young for many years and he is a person with more character and enthusiasm than anyone you will ever meet. Playing youth sports with him, he never worried about his personal success, but the success of the team in general. He would always go out of his way to provide tips and ideas for each of his teammates to become better at the game that we were playing. For example, when we were 14/15 year olds playing basketball in front of my house, he would often stop the game to explain to me something I was doing and how to get better at it. This shows that even years ago, he became somewhat of a coach.
Coon Rapids HS should be honored to have this great person leading there football program because each person that comes out of this program is going to be a better person due to the leadership of Jon.
I had the privilege of attending Jon's first coached game against Maple Grove last year, and really enjoyed watching the team play as a team. The number one goal of any team is to have fun, but play as one.
I am truly proud to still consider Jon as my friend, and I am looking forward to watching the progress of this program over the years as I suspect it will become the premier program in the state of Minnesota. |
