Next Booster Club Meeting
The next booster club meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4th, at 6:00 in the CHS Lecture Hall.

GUMBO TAIL GATE EVENT
*The October fund raiser will be a tailgate event prior to a home football game on October 17th with gumbo as the main offering. Ayyeeee! Ca c'est bon!
*Each player/family is responsible for selling ten tickets. The tickets were distributed at the September 30th Booster Club meeting. You may contact Mrs. Wise to obtain tickets. Turn in your money from sold tickets to Joe Harpe on the night of the event.
!*!*! Please contact Joe Harpe by October 11th to report the # of tickets sold.
*Ticket prices are $10.00 each. This will include gumbo (or chili), bread/crackers, dessert, and a drink.
Volunteers who signed up to help with this event need to be on site by 4:30 p.m. Britt Akers has a list of volunteers.
!*!*! All parents are responsible for bringing single-serving desserts (cookies, brownies, etc,) for the event. Please arrange to have thme on site by 4:30 p.m.

Talk About MENTAL TOUGHNESS!!!
Adam Bender, 8, is one of several kids who plays catcher in Southeastern’s rookie league at Veterans Park. What makes Adam stand out is that he plays one of the toughest positions on the field with only one leg. Because of cancer, he had his left leg amputated when he was one. Adam doesn’t use a prosthesis, and only uses crutches when he reaches base for the Astros.

Adam not only has physical toughness but also mental toughness. His attitude sets an example for everyone!
After this story was published in the Lexington Herald, Adam became the subject of an ESPN special that aired in June of this year.
