Cherry Creek Little League: Summer 2008 Divisions

Select Season:  
T-Ball Division (5-6 year olds)
This is a recreational/instructional league for players ages 5 and 6. Six year olds may play in the Farm or T-Ball Division depending on the ability of the player and if they played one year of T-Ball the previous season. Players may not participate in two divisions at the same time. The format for play is a combination of coach pitch and hitting off a batting tee.

Practices will begin the week of May 13th and will consist usually of two practice periods per week. The season runs from the first week in June through July and consists of approximately 15 games. The games are played weekday evenings and Saturday during the day. Games are played at Sunrise Elementary School and Mission Viejo Park.

The fee covers ball field rental fees, insurance for the player, a ball cap, shirt and pants. The player provides their own glove, socks and belt (if necessary).

Farm Division (7-8 year olds)
Players League Age 7 and 8

This is a recreational/instructional league for players ages 7 and 8. Six year olds may play in the Farm division based on ability and only if the player participated in T-Ball the previous season. The format for play is a combination of player pitch and coach pitch.

Practices will begin the week of May 13th and will consist usually of two practice periods per week. The season runs from June 1st through July 27th and consists of approximately 15 games. The games are played weekday evenings and Saturday during the day. Games are played at Marina Elementary School and Mission Viejo Park.

The fee covers ball field rental fees, insurance for the player, a ball cap, shirt and pants. The player provides their own glove, socks and belt (if necessary).

Minors Division (9-11 yrs old)
This is a recreational/instructional league for players ages 9, 10, & 11. Players are encouraged to attend assessments for the Majors at the beginning of each season. If they are not drafted to a Majors team, they will be placed in Minors. If they don’t attend assessments, they automatically will be placed in Minors. There are no property players in the Minors Division, meaning a 9 year old placed on a Minors team this season will re-assess next season for possible selection to a majors team. The format for play follows traditional Little League baseball rules.
Practices will consist usually of two practice periods per week. The season runs from mid May through mid July and consists of approximately 16 games. The games are played weekday evenings and Saturday during the day. Game Fields to be determined.

The fee covers ball field rental fees, umpires, insurance for the player, trophies, a ball cap, shirt and pants. The player provides their own glove, socks and belt (if necessary). All players will receive One Individual & Team Picture and participation trophies as part of registration. There is a donation required of soda, gatorade, or water to the concession stand for all divisions, your coach will be informed of which to donate. Also, there are a mandatory set of shifts to work concession stand per team.


Majors 9-10 Division (9-10 year olds)
This is a competitive division for players ages 9 and 10. The format for play follows traditional Little League baseball rules.

Players are selected by the managers of the Division to participate in their team’s activities. Players are required to attend tryouts at the beginning of each season and are drafted to teams by the team manager. There are property players in the Major Division, meaning a 9 year old drafted on a Major team this season does not need to attend tryouts next season. The player becomes the property of the team and will automatically be assigned to the same team next season. If the player wishes to be on a different team next year, they need to attend tryouts to be eligible for the draft.

Practices will begin the first week of April and may consist of five practice periods per week. The season runs from April 27th through June 22nd and consists of approximately 16 games. Additional exhibition and/or Tournament games may be played during the regular season schedule. The games are played weekday evenings and Saturday during the day. Games are played at Piney Hollow Park and Mission Viejo Park.

League 9-10 All-Stars are selected from this division. The tournament will run from July 7th until the team is eliminated from play at the District or State level. Major Division parents are required to donate a case of soda pop for the concession stand and to work at least one evening or at least a two-hour shift on a Saturday during the season per child in the division. Failure to perform these duties will exclude the player from eligibility in All-Stars.

Majors 11-12 Division (11-12 yr olds)
This is a competitive division for players ages 11 and 12. The format for play follows traditional Little League baseball rules.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If a player that played in the CCLL Majors Division in the previous year and wants to be drafted to a different team this season they must attend tryouts this spring. Otherwise, they will automatically be assigned to their former team.

The season runs from about the 3rd week in April through the end of June and consists of approximately 16 games. Additional exhibition and/or Tournament games may be played during the regular season schedule. The games are played weekday evenings and Saturday during the day. Games are played at Spring Creek Field or Piney Creek and Mission Viejo Park.

League 11-12 All-Stars are selected from this division. The tournament will during the 1st week in July until the team is eliminated from play at the District or State, Regional or National Level. Major Division parents are required to donate a case of soda pop for the concession stand and to work at least one evening or at least a two-hour shift on a Saturday during the season per child in the division. Failure to perform these duties will exclude the player from eligibility in All-Stars.

Junior Division (13 -14 year olds)
Players League Age 13 and 14

This is a high school prep division for players age 13 and 14. The format for play follows traditional Little League baseball rules (90 Ft. bases).

Practices will begin the week of April 8th and may consist of five practice periods per week. The season runs from April 27th through June 22nd and consists of approximately 16 games. Additional exhibition and/or Tournament games may be played during the regular season schedule. The games are played weekday evenings and Saturday during the day.   Games are played at Larry Walker Field and Mission Viejo Park. There may be inter-league play with Arapahoe Little League in Aurora.

League Juniors All-Stars are selected from this division. The tournament will run from July 6th until the team is eliminated from play at the District or State, Regional or National Level. Junior Division parents are required to donate a case of soda pop for the concession stand. The player or parent must work at least one evening or at least a two-hour shift on a Saturday in the concession stand. Failure to perform these duties will exclude the player from eligibility in All-Stars.

Senior Division (15-16 year olds)

Games are played at Larry Walker Field, Mission Viejo Park, Arapahoe Little League, and in Colorado Springs.

League Seniors All-Stars are selected from this division. The tournament will run from July 6th until the team is eliminated from play at the District or State, Regional or National Level. Senior Division parents are required to donate a case of soda pop for the concession stand.   The player or parent must work at least one evening or at least a two-hour shift on a Saturday in the concession stand. Failure to perform these duties will exclude the player from eligibility in All-Stars.
