Fitzgerald has been to The Swamp two other times with them winning in 2004 and the Tribe winning last year in the playoffs. One other meeting played in Fitzgerald was won by the Purple Hurricanes. Fitzgerald enters this game with an 8-2 record losing only to Region champion Brooks Co. and region runnerup Thomasville. They are averaging 36.0 points a game while giving up 11.0 point per game. Charlton comes in with a 9-1 record with a 14-7 loss to Appling Co. the only blemish on their record. The Tribe is averaging 30.0 points per game while allowing only 8.0 points a game. Academy Buccaneers invade Indian Field in a crucial matchup to determine the final seedings for the state playoffs. A win by MCA will give them the outright Region 2-AA title while a win by the Indians will force a 3-way tie for the region title. If that scenario occurs a coin flip will be used to determine the seeds of the teams. This game will be Senior Night as they possibly play the last home game of their careers at Indian Field. This years seniors have recorded an overall record of 47-3-1 thus far in their careers. This will be the 17th meeting between the two schools with the Tribe leading the series 14-2 including winning the last 11 in a row.

The Indians are coming off a 28-7 win over Benedictine while the Herons are trying to rebound after a 53-14 defeat by Appling Co. Charlton leads the all time series 26-8 while defeating the Herons sixteen times in a row. It will be Recreation Football night with all Charlton Co. Recreation Football players admitted free to the game.

Indians will travel to Savannah Saturday night to face one of the oldest and most storied programs in the state of Georgia in Benedictine. Benedictine dates back to playing football as early as 1902. Charlton has never played the Cadets before. Benedictine enters the game sporting a 5-2 overall record and a Region 2-AA mark of 3-2. The Indians come in with a 5-1 record and 3-1 in Region 2-AA. Blue Tide this Friday night at Indian Field. Charlton enters the game with an overall 4-1 record(2-1 in Region 2-AA) while Long brings a 1-4 record(0-4 in Region 2-AA). The Blue Tide will bring an offense that is averaging 25 points per game but a defense that is giving up 51 points per game. This will mark the 5th overall meeting between the schools with the Tribe claiming the first 4 meetings.

The two schools have met 4 times previously with the Indians winning all 4 times including 27-14 win in Baxley last year.

  Fri 9/12/08 7:30pm Charlton Co. Indians: 29 - Pierce Co.: 0 The Charlton Co. Indians will see their first action this week at Indian Field as they play their home opener versus the Pierce Co. Bears. The game will also be the 1st region contest for both schools. The Tribe enters the game with a 2-0 record after beating Clinch Co. 28-7 and First Coast 32-18 while the Bears come in struggling with an 0-2 start after shutout losses to both Cook and Coffee. This marks the 16th meeting between the two schools with Charlton holding a 9-6 advantage in the series. Pierce won the first six contests played but the Indians have claimed the last nine in a row.

Indians will open the Border War Classic doubleheader at Camden Co. against the 10th ranked team in AAAA in Florida, the First Coast High School Buccaneers of Jacksonville. The Tribe enters the game with a 1-0 record after defeating Clinch Co. last Friday night while this will be the Bucs opening game after a scrimmage versus Bolles Friday. The Bucs are led by Wake Forest commit, QB Derald Jones. Last year First Coast finished with a 10-3 record and were District 4-AAAA champions.
