Get involved - Raffle and Auction
Dear Concord-Carlisle Sports Families,
In an earlier letter, we described the efforts of the youth sports groups to help raise the remaining $500,000 needed to complete the fields plan. We are now in the final weeks of building the new multi-purpose fields at CCHS. The lights and scoreboards have been installed and the turf will soon be finished. We are all looking forward to the grand opening celebration on June 8! The final phase of the project, which will address the upgrades to our baseball and softball fields, will begin shortly. As many of you know, funding up to this point has been a combination of town, CPA, and large private donations. It is anticipated that the last portion of funding for the fields will come from widespread donations from the families of the children in our youth sports programs. All of the kids in our town's sports programs can look forward to years of use from the additions and upgrades to our playing fields. We hope that every family can contribute in some way to the success of the community fundraising. The major component of the community fundraising effort will be a raffle and auction. As mentioned in our previous note, some early donations to the raffle included sports tickets, time at local camps and a family membership to the Beede Center. These generous gifts have been pledged by people who have worked closely with the the fields committee. We would now like to formally ask the entire community for contributions of gifts to be used as prizes in the raffle and auction.
What's a good item to donate?
Attractive prizes would include tickets to sporting events, sporting goods, and gift certificates. Some families may decide to team up and offer a "basket" of complementary prizes. It is anticipated that some gifts may be more suitable for auction. This would include items of a truly unique nature, or exceptional value, such as donated time at a vacation home or gifts of service (painting, landscaping, gourmet dinner, ...).
If you have an item you would like to donate, please complete the attached form or feel free to contact any of the fundraising representatives listed on the form. http://www.ccfields.org/storage/CCFieldsRaffleDonorForm.pdf
Volunteers - Finally, we are looking for volunteers to help with the opening day celebration on Sunday, June 8th from 12:00 to 4:00. Also, if anyone knows any sports celebrities that might be willing at attend, please let us know!
Thank you very much for your support. In a few short weeks we can celebrate the years of work and community generosity that has made this important project possible.

The White House
Hi to all CCYB/S families,
Hope you all had a good end of summer!
I am writing to you on behalf of the CCYB/S Board of Directors in regard to a decision we made about naming the new equipment shed across from the Emerson 90’ diamond at 105 Everett Street “The White House,” after Doug White who passed away earlier this summer.
The new shed is a great facility that we built with donations from many of our families. Special thanks to Greg Higgins who provided construction advice and contacts. Greg is a builder in Town who spent many years on the Board and served as President and Chairman. The Town of Concord was also very supportive of this effort.
I know many of you knew Doug but for those that didn't, he was a CCYB/S coach, equipment manager, and Board member. He was 49 years old, with a daughter Greta, who he coached in our softball program, son Jake who he coached in the baseball program, and wife Brenda. Since Doug contributed so much time to youth sports and our program, especially managing equipment in the old falling down shed for a number of years, we thought that this would be an appropriate tribute.
To acknowledge this we plan to place a small but nice plaque on the shed. The plaque will cost approximately $1,000. We are asking for donations to pay for the plaque. We will not allocate any CCYB/S money from our general fund to pay for this plaque. Any donations in excess of the cost of the plaque will go toward finishing the shed with internal shelving.
Donations should be sent to: CCYB/S Treasurer, 148 Judy Farm Rd, Carlisle, Ma 01741. They should be marked for the "White House"
All donations are appreciated!
Thanks, Pete Castrichini
Chairman, CCYB/S
