T-Ball League
Where is first base, second base, third base? Where do I stand when batting? Which end of the bat do I use? These are the mysteries revealed in T-Ball. An introduction to the game with the emphasis on fun. Boys and Girls in Kindergarten, although Kindergarten Girls may choose Rookie League Softball instead (see below). Typical age as of 4/30: 5 and 6 Assigned by School. Play 2 games per week (usually Fri and Sun PM). Baseball A League The coaches continue to pitch in A League Baseball. More time is now spent on proper positioning in the field, hitting fundamentals and the rules of the game. Boys and Girls in Grade 2. Typical age as of 4/30: 7 and 8 Assigned by School. Play 2 games per week (usually Wed and Sat). Softball Major League This league is for girls in 4th and 5th grade. The league uses the 12 ball and pitchers pitch from 40 feet. Stealing of 3rd base and home plate are allowed. Play 2 games per week (usually Mon & Wed PM) Softball Senior League This league is for girls in grades 6, 7 and 8. The league plays by standard ASA rules 12 ball, 40 foot pitching mound, full stealing. Play 2 games per week (usually Tues PM & Sat early PM) Softball Minor League This league is for girls in 2nd and 3rd grade. It is a full competition league with outs and runs recorded, standings kept and a playoff series at the end of the season. The league uses 11 balls and pitchers pitch from 35 feet. Limited base stealing is allowed. Play 2 games per week (usually Thur PM & Sat AM) Softball Rookie League This is an introductory softball league for girls in Kindergarten and 1st Grade that is a combination of softball clinics and games. Where is first base, second base, third base? How do I hold a bat? How do I throw a softball? These questions will all be answered in this fun and instructional league. Plays 2 games per week (usually Friday & Sun PM) Baseball Farm League In Farm League we lose the T and introduce live pitching. The coaches pitch at this level with more emphasis now placed on how to field, hit, and run the bases. Boys and Girls in grade 1. Typical age as of 4/30: 6 and 7 Assigned by School. Play 2 games per week (usually Mon and Thurs PM) Baseball AA League A big change in AA Baseball as the kids start to pitch! The game becomes real baseball as the score is kept and an umpire is used. Standings are not tracked during the season. A tournament at the end of the year determines the League Champion and trophies are awarded to the winners and runners-up. Boys and Girls in 3rd grade. Typical age as of 4/30: 8 and 9 Selected by coaches in a baseball draft. All eligible players are placed on a team. (NOT placed by SCHOOL or TOWN) Play 2 games per week (Usually Thurs and Fri) Baseball AAA League Standings are kept during the season in AAA Baseball. Regular season trophies are awarded and there is an end of season tournament. At mid-season an All-Star Game is played, with teams selected by the players. Boys and Girls ages 10 and 11 as of 4/30. Selected by Skill. Play 2 games per week (Tues & Sat AM). Baseball Major League The Major League is the top level of the Cal Ripken Division of Babe Ruth Baseball. The League features a regular season and tournament champion, with an All-Star Game at mid-season. This is the highest level of baseball on the "60-foot" diamond. Boys and Girls ages 11 and 12 as of 4/30. Play 3 games per week (Mon, Wed, Sat). Baseball Babe Ruth 13s A league set up for 13-year-olds as they step up to the big diamond for the first time. Games will be played (Tuesday and Wednesday evenings) against other Concord-Carlisle teams as well as teams from Westford and Sudbury. A great way to learn the ropes of 90-foot bases, leading off, balks and all the facets of real "big league" baseball! Play 2 games per week (Tues & Thurs 5:30) Baseball Minuteman Babe Ruth League The Minuteman Babe Ruth League is baseball on the official baseball diamond. The basepaths move from 60-feet to 90-feet and the pitching distance moves from 45-feet to 60-feet 6-inches. Boys and Girls ages 14 to 15. Some 13 years olds selected by skill. Play 2 games per week (Weekends) against surrounding towns. |
