Welcome to the Carolina All-Stars!! The Carolina All-Stars provide opportunities for girls to improve their basketball skills, develop character and compete against the best female athletes in the country. We are fortunate to have dedicated coaches providing excellent instruction to help every girl be the best that she can be at the game of basketball. Our hope is that the experience of the girls with the Carolina All-Stars will be positive. Our organization is not just about basketball. 2008 Fall Season
| 2008 FALL TRAINING SEASON & EXPOSURE REGISTRATION AND OPEN GYMS Tuesday, September 2, 2008Thursday, September 4, 2008 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm (8th Grade and Younger)7:30 pm – 9:00 pm (9th Grade and Older) WD Hill Recreation Center Gym1308 Fayetteville Street, Durham, NC 27707 CAROLINA ALL-STARS GIRLS BASKETBALL FALL SEASON (SEPTEMBER 6, 2008 – OCTOBER 26, 2008)TRAINING STARTS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2008. 2008 FALL TRAINING SEASON TEAMS8-Under (1999s or younger) – 9-Under (1998s) – 10-Under (1997s) – 11-Under (1996s) – 12-Under (1995s)$175.00 per player if paid by September 2, 2008 ($200.00 if paid after September 2, 2008) The Fall Season will go from September August to October. This price will include Complete Player Fundamentals Training Camp, practice time, 1 travel tournament, Fall Saturday League, 14 – 15 fall games, new 08-09 AAU card, insurance and administrative fees. ALL players will be placed on teams based upon where we feel will benefit the player the most. The fall season will be used as a tool for us to evaluate the players for the 2008 season. Players will be placed on teams of 8 to 12 players per team. The complete fee and this paperwork is due prior to a player being placed on a team and start of training camp. Any player that is interested in playing middle school or high school basketball is strongly encouraged to get involved in club basketball. More and more players today are getting involved in club basketball and because of this it is making it more difficult for those players not involved to make their high school team. 2008 FALL EXPOSURE TEAMS13-Under (1994s) – 14-Under (1993s) – 15-Under (1992s) – 16-Under (1991s)$175.00 per player if paid by September 2, 2008 ($200.00 if paid after September 2, 2008)Optional Point Guard College Clinic at UNC-CH is additional $ 100.00 The 2008 Fall Exposure Teams will train during September and October and play in exposure tournament during the weekend of October 3 – 5, 2008. This price will include Complete Player Fundamentals Training Camp, 1 travel college coaches exposure tournament, 2 individual college coaches showcase events, Fall Saturday League, 14 – 15 fall games, new 08-09 AAU card, insurance and administrative fees. Players will be placed on teams 8 to 10 players based upon skill. The complete fee and this paperwork is due prior to a player being placed on a team and start of training camp. 2008 COMPLETE PLAYER FUNDAMENTALS TRAINING CAMPALL AGES - 9-Under (1998s or younger) through High School Seniors September 6th – October 26th There is NO off-season for the serious basketball player. It is during the non-competitive months that make a difference in a player’s development. The Complete Player Fundamentals Training Camp is for the player who is motivated, and committed to improving their overall basketball skills by focusing on becoming a complete fundamental player. Skill development will be emphasized during the Complete Player Fundamentals Training Camp. This camp will be held 2 - 3 days a week on (9/10U – Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and/or Thursdays), (11/12U – Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays) and (High School Players – Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and/or Tuesdays). Carolina All-Stars Girls Basketball Announces 2008 12-Under (1995s) Team
The Carolina All-Stars Girls Basketball Organization is pleased to announce the 10 members of the 2008 12-Under National (1995s) Team. There are 7 returning members from the 2007 11-Under (1995s) Team and 3 key additional players. In 2007, as 11 year olds, the 2007 11-Under (1995s) Team compiled a 31-10 overall record (76% winning percentage) and 24-3 record vs. North Carolina teams (89% winning percentage). The 1995s are the defending champions of Two-time defending (2006 & 2007) AAU Eastern Regional Champions; 2005 AAU Division I State Champions; and YBOA State Runner-ups. At the 2007 AAU 11-Under AAU Division I National Championships held in Kenner, LA, they placed 17th nationally. The 2008 12-Under Team plans to defend its AAU regional title, challenge for the AAU state championship and place well at AAU Nationals to be held in Rochester, MN in July 2008. 2008 12-Under Team will again be led by Head Coach Ty Cox, Assistant Coaches Dexter Smith, George Marshall and Olivia Hyatt. The 2008 12-Under Team Roster is listed below. The team did not adopt the new birth date rule; therefore, ALL players are 1995s 6th or 7th graders (NO 8th Graders). Carolina All-Stars 9 and Under Capture the YBOA National Title
Carolina All-Stars 9 and Under are YBOA National Champions
The Carolina All-Stars 9 and Under team have arrived back home with some serious hardware. They have come back with the 9 and Under Girls National Champions Title and National Championship Trophy. Girls traveling to nationals were: Tajah Clark, Amber Courtney, Tamia Eatmon, Quineshia Graham, Kiara Jacobs, Mariah Jacobs, Mon Jones, Brittany Kelly, Jamia Kenan, Imari McLean, Jazmyne Norwood, Nakeisha Revels, Kirsten Smith, Bryanna Staton, and Jessica Wall. The girls played an awesome tournament and went undefeated during bracket play. Special thanks to Coaches Brian Norwood, John Courtney and Sherai Jones. The girls also capture many individual and team awards which are listed below. Excellent Job Ladies!!!
