Q. Who are Canyon Soccer Association's board members and how can I contact them?

Q.  What type of Soccer can Canyon Soccer Association Offer?

A.  Canyon Soccer Association offers Recreational Leagues for Children Under 5 to Under 19.

  

Q.  How can I register?
A.  You can register on line at www.canyonsoccer.org in the menu. You can also register by mail by printing a registration form from our website under Forms & Documents.
 
Q.  When will the Fall 2007 season begin? 

A.  The season will begin August 2007 and end September 2007.  The season consists of 8 games most of which will be played on Saturdays. There may be a few weekday games if needed.

Q.  Is my child old enough to play?
A.  A player must 4 years old by July 31st, 2007 to play with CSA for the Fall 07" & Spring 08" seasons. (NTSSA Age Chart)

Q.  How is my child placed on a team?
A.  Players are placed on teams based on age, gender, and skill level. Teams will be created based on the number of new players and the number of openings on existing teams. New players will not be placed on teams until after the registration deadline.

Q.  Can my child play up an age group?
A.  Yes, a child may play up one age division. Age groups are determined by NTSSA Youth Age Chart. Registration must be done in person and play up one age group should be indicated in the special request area on the registration form. Note: A player can never play down.

Q. Can my child wear earrings during the soccer games?
A. NO JEWLERY can be worn during soccer games. This includes newly pierced ears. No Exceptions.

Q.  When will practices be?
A.  Practice days, times, and locations are set by the coach of your team. CSA does not regulate when or where your team practices. Any conflicts on practices should be resolved with your coach.

Q.  When and where are the games played?

A.   Most games will be played on Saturdays. An occasional Weekday game might be required.  U5 thru U19 will be played at Southeast Park in Canyon, Texas.
 

Q.  When will I hear from our coach?

A.  Your child’s coach should contact you sometime between August 2nd and August 5th after evaluations and the coaches meeting.

Q.  Who provides the uniform and the other soccer equipment?

A.  Canyon Soccer Association will provide the uniform which includes shirt, shorts and socks, to U5 thru U8. U9 thru U19 will be provided a uniform only upon request. Players must provide their own equipment. You must purchase shin guards and the appropriate size soccer ball prior to your child’s first practice.  It is MANDATORY that shin guards be worn at all games and practices.  Soccer cleats are optional; baseball/football cleats with a toe-cleat or metal-cleats are NOT allowed.

Q.  When will I find out when my first game is?

A.  Games will be posted on the Canyon Soccer Association website (www.canyonsoccer.org) once the schedule has been completed. Schedules are FINAL.
 

Q.  Is there a refund policy?

A.  CSA has a $25 administrative fee prior to the first game, no refunds thereafter.

Q.  How do I register as a Coach?

A.  You can register online at www.canyonsoccer.orgAll coaches will need a Risk Management Form filled out and mailed in to:

Q.  What special requests will CSA honor?

A.   a) A player is allowed to play with a sibling (same gender, and only one age level up).

       b) Play up one age group with parent signature on the registration form. (This cannot  

            be done on-line).

       c) A player can request  NOT to return to their previous team.

       d) Return to their old team after skipping a season.  A player can return to a CSA

            team they were previously on IF and ONLY IF: a) they only skipped one season

            and did not play on another CSA team that season and b) there is room on the

            roster for that player and any other players who also skipped 1 season who wish

            to return.     

 

Q. What can be placed on uniforms?
A  A players number must be placed on the back of the jersey.
B. Players names are not allowed on the jersey.
C. Nothing is allowed on the sleeves of the jersey.
D. Team logo can be placed on the front of the jersey.
E. If the uniform is sponsered, the name of the company or logo can be placed above the players number on the back of the jersey. The logo cannot be more than 2 inches tall.
