We are extremely excited at the opportunity to host this camp with some tremendous clinicians. **Camp T-Shirts to first 50 applicants **Teaching of individual wrestling skills **Opportunities to improve on wrestling skills **Chance to work with a variety of coaches from around Ohio. Camp Schedule Daily: 9:00-11:30 (youth) 12:00-3:00 (MS/HS) June 11th: Sessions will be taught from area high school coaches. *Canal Winchester Coaching Staff *Richard Foston– 4X College AA (West-Liberty) *Jake Pleger– Former 2X state placer (Watkins Memorial) *Kyle Bentley– Head Coach, Gahanna Lincoln HS *Jared Ball– Assistant Coach, Reynoldsburg HS June 12th and 13th: Coach Ott will run all technique sessions on these days for both age groups. Wednesday, May 14 2008 State Tournament Info Congratulations to Harrison Rosch (152). He joins Seth Morton as the only other Indians wrestler to place at the State tourney. Harrison wrestled his way to an 8th place finish. Here is a link to the Final brackets: http://www.jakeswrestling.com/div2.htm ****** STATE TOURNAMENT UPDATE # 1: Conrad Rosch (130) and Harrison Rosch (152) both won their first round matches on Thursday and will wrestle this morning in the state quarter-finals. Brandon Voss (112) lost a tough decision in his first match, but bounced back with a 2nd period pin to advance in the consolation brackets. After completition of the first day's action, the Indians sit in 10th place in the team standings. ****** DAY #2 STATE UPDATE: Brandon Voss and Conrad Rosch both finished the State Tournament with 1-2 records and finished one match short of placing. Harrison Rosch stood on the podium as a State Placer finishing 8th. Congratulations to all 3 wrestlers for a great season! Saturday, February 23 Indians finish Top 10 at Steubenville District...Qualify 3 for State Tournament *** Click here for pix The Indians wrestling team notched its first ever Top 10 district finish at the D2 Steubenville District Tournament held on Feb 22nd & Feb 23rd. The team will send a trio of wrestlers to the State Tournament. Brandon Voss (112) and Conrad Rosch (130) earned runner-up finishes, while Harrison Rosch (152) won his final match of the day to finish 3rd. All three wrestlers will be in action on Thursday at the OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament held on the campus of The Ohio State University. With the win, Brandon joins former Indian standout Seth Morton in the Indians "100 Win Club". Congratulations Brandon! Saturday, February 9 CW Indians tie for 7th in 18 team Buckeye Local Tournament - 2/9/08 ** Click here for medalist pictures The Canal Winchester wrestlers tied for 7th in the tough 18 team Buckeye Local Domino's/Pepsi Classic on February 9th. The competition was spiced by the inclusion of seven out-of-state schools from PA and WV. The Indians placed 5 wrestlers on the medals stand: Brady Hutchins (112) 4th, Conrad Rosch (130) 4th, Jack Boswell (135) 3rd, Harrison Rosch (152) 3rd, and Nate Tope (171) 3rd. The day was highlighted by Brandon Voss as he posted his 100th career varsity win. Final Team Standings:

Jenkins (3rd place), Tullius (4th place) and Brady (5th place) are now qualified for the Junior High State Championships held on the weekend of March 14th-16th at Ohio University. Good luck guys!! Monday, February 11 CW Middle School wrestlers place 9 at league tourney - 2/9/08 The CW Middle School wrestlers had a great day at the inaugural Mid State League Buckeye Division tournament. The squad placed 9 wrestlers in the top four and captured three championships. Congratulations!! Results:
80: Emmons - Champion Thursday, February 7 Middle School wrestlers win 1st League Championship - 2/07/08 The Canal Winchester Middle School wrestling team captured its first Mid State League Buckeye Division championship. The squad finished with a record of 6-1 in league action to share the crown with Teays Valley. Congratulations to the coaches and all the wrestlers.......great job! |
