Thursday, July 17 Lemon Grove Little League Wins Section 7 Tournament in the Little League Division
What a game tonight at West Hills Little League with Lemon Grove forced to the IF game against Rancho San Diego. With De Andre Simpson taking the mound to start the game and Lemon Grove taking an early 1-0 lead in the 1st inning. It was a close game back and forth with the score tied at 6-6 going in to the top of the 6th inning. Lemon Grove up to bat and #99 Esteban Lieras cranks a leadoff Home Run to Centerfield to send Lemon Grove ahead 7-6. Lemon Grove ends up adding 12 runs total in the top of the 6th inning for a score of 18 to 6. Mike Martinez shuts down Rancho San Diego in the Bottom of the 6th inning and Lemon Grove claims the Section 7 title. It is the first Little League (11/12 Year Olds) Section Title since 1978 for Lemon Grove, a 30 year span.
The team is now on to the Southern California - South Sub-Divisional tournament in Murrieta. Please come out to support our team on Saturday, July 19th at 7:00pm at Los Alamos Sports Park, located at 36700 Ruth Ellen Way in Murrieta.
We would also like to thank all of the parents and fans as well as fans from other leagues in District 66 and also our District Administrator, Rolland Slade, that have come out to support the team. We have a long way yet on the road to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. On behalf of myself, the players, the coaches and LG President, Kevin Darby and his Board staff, let’s take the show on the road! Little League Tournament Structure
Friday, April 18 Jackie Robinson Day at Petco Park ASAP Safety Plans We are at 100% submission and approved. All District 66 leagues are good to go. Only 15% of all Districts have 100%. I want to see this in the years to come. A Great job goes out to the Local Safety Officers and President's. Thanks again for you hard work, District 66 Staff Thursday, March 6 Break Away Bases Presidents - Just a friendly reminder that Break Away Bases are REQUIRED for all divisions on ALL fields. Please be sure to let your Managers & Coaches know that even at practice these need to be in place. Little League will not cover an injury if it could have been avoided by using a Breakaway Base.
