Recruit and Train Volunteer Umpires for your League!!
Every year, Little Leagues are scrambling to find volunteers to help with the task of running a local Little League program. At District 42, we offer you the tools to help make the job a little easier. We hold scorekeeper clinics, umpire clinics, rules clinics, and offer training and advice to make your Leagues run as smooth as possible. At our January League Volunteer meeting, we will be showing a PowerPoint presentation to help you recruit and train volunteer umpires for the upcoming season, and beyond. Our League Volunteer meetings are open to ALL Board members from the local Leagues in our District, and ALL Board members are encouraged to attend. In the event you can't make it to our January meeting, or just want to download the presentation for later viewing, click here.
You must have Microsoft® PowerPoint, or a PowerPoint viewer to view this presentation.
PLAY BALL!
IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR 2008!
Rule 1.06: Beginning with the 2008 season, it will become mandatory that all leagues utilize bases that disengage their anchor. Leagues are encouraged to begin the process of implementing these types of base systems during the current season on all their fields so that the process is completed by the 2008 season.
The new rule applies to first, second, and third base in ALL levels of play.
Click here to read about it on Little League's Web Site: Little League Disengage-Able Base Rule
All District 42 Leagues are required to review and update their Constitutions every two (2) years. Please send three (3) copies to Western Region for approval. You will receive a copy back after it has been approved. Little League has provided a sample constitution to help you out, if needed. The sample is located on the Handouts Page, in the Little League Forms section.
Also, don't forget that your By-Laws, and Supplemental, Local, or Ground Rules, whichever name you call them, must be reviewed, updated, and approved by your Board of Directors EVERY year. The documents listed above must be approved by the District Administrator and his staff before your games begin.
The changes to the 2008 Little League Rules and Regulations are now available for reviewing online. Click

Some of those changes include:
-
Continuous batting order for Minors and below.
