Wrestling is the fastest growing sport nationally and the Brazoswood Wrestling Club is home for numerous State Champions in Freestyle, Greco and Folkstyle wrestling. Our Wrestling Club is dedicated to promoting collegiate-style and Olympic style wrestling for young athletes, kindergarten through high school. Wrestling is a sport that can be enjoyed by any child no matter their size or sex.
Wrestling is an ideal sport for body and mind, building strength, endurance, self-confidence, and self-discipline. Athletes compete against other athletes of their age and weight catagory. Your child’s age (as of September 1st), weight and experience will determine their status, division and weight class. First year wrestlers are ROOKIES, second year wrestlers are NOVICE and third + year wrestlers are considered OPEN. At many of the local tournaments you may find that they will combine the Rookie and Novice so that there is enough competition.
