Baseball Field Diagram with Umpires

NOTE 1: All positions are before each pitch – move accordingly during each play.

NOTE 2: “D” position is only used with 3-man umpire crews.

Farm/AA:

• “Home Plate” ump: “H-R” for right-handed batters, “H-L” for Left-handed batters – IMPORTANT: Be sure to stand behind the batter’s where foul ball cannot hit you
• Field umpire:
• “A” position with no runners on base
• “B” position with just a runner on 1^st base
• “C” position – all other runner combinations

Majors/AAA:

• Home Plate umpire in “H” position
• Field umpire:
• “A” position with no runners on base
• “B” position with just a runner on 1^st base
• “C” position – all other runner combinations
