BBriarwood 11/12's beat Hollister 5-3 and advance to the Championship Game Sunday at 1:00.Adam Rios pitched 5 strong innings and was relieved by Joey Bernhardt. Hitting was led by Stephen Jaramillo who had 3 hits and Anthony Aguilar who homered. Garrett Ciuk also hit a two run home run to break up a 2-2 tie. Come out and watch Briarwood as they seek to win the Sectional Title!

Congratulations to the Briarwood 11/12's as they defeated Santa Clara Westside 3-0 and are now District 44 Champs!!!
Garrett Ciuk was dominant on the mound throwing a complete game 3 hitter with 13 strikeouts. Michael Brown had a key hit in the 4th to give Briarwood a 1-0 lead and that's all the run support Ciuk needed. Briarwood 11/12's have now won District 44 three of the past 4 years and the majority of this team has won District for three years in a row. Briarwood now plays this Wednesday vs District 12 at the Milpitas Sports Complex. Come out and support them as the now enter Sectional play.

 Briarwood 10/11's lost to eventual champ Campbell and have been eliminated from All Stars. This team battled throughout and finished with a very good 4-2 record. Thanks to Coaches Ralph Maldonado, Paul Adame and Alex Reynaga and the players for playing hard and representing Briarwood well.

Briarwood Minor A's and Major Pirates are
the 2008 District 44 TOC Minor and Major Champs!!!

For the 3rd time in the last 4 years, the Briarwood Pirates are Major TOC Champs!!! The Pirates defeated the Santa Clara Homestead Yankees 8-0 to win the District 44 Championship. Led by ace Garrett Ciuk who threw 5 shutout innings, striking out 14, and Stephen Jaramillo who closed the game. The Pirates pitching/defense did not give up a run in 4 games while scoring 35 in TOC'S.The Pirates got on the board first with a 3 run home run from Nico O'Donnell, his second in TOC'S, and the game was put away with a Grand Slam from Anthony Aguilar. Congratulations to SC Homestead on a fine year and to the Briarwood Pirates who finished the season 27-1 and TOC Champs!!!

Congratulations to our Briarwood A's as they defeated the SC Westside Mets 3-2 in 7 innings and are now Minor TOC Champs!!! Led by pitcher Marcos Cervantes the A's held on to a 2-0 lead until Westside tied the game in the bottom of the 6th. Kevin Chitwood relieved Cervantes and pitched 3 strong innings for the win. Clutch hits by Cervantes and Brian Silveira and great defense helped secure the win. It was a great game played by the two Santa Clara teams. The A's will receive the District 44 trophy this Tuesday at All Star night at Santa Clara University. Great job A's!!!!!!!
