2008 Calendar Raffle Information
2008 BILLERICA LITTLE LEAGUE
CALENDAR RAFFLE
Stapled packs of three: The raffles are sold in packs of three sheets stapled together. Each stapled pack of 3 tickets is sold for $10. At the bottom of each sheet there is some info to be filled out by the person who bought the tickets. This bottom area needs to be cut off and handed in with the money. The player who sold the ticket should also fill in their name, league and team name where it says "Sold by". (ex. Josh Beckett I-2 Red Sox)
Each player gets 13 stapled packs: We're asking everyone to do their best to sell all 13 packs.
What to turn in (this is important): Please do NOT turn in the full raffle sheets. Only the bottom portion of the raffle ticket (the stub) needs to be turned in with the money. There should be three stubs for every $10 turned in.
Incentives: This year anyone that sells 20 packs ($200 of sales) will get a duffle bag with the Billerica Little League logo on it. Anyone interested in getting a duffle bag must turn in all $200 at one time so that there is not confusion about who sold enough to get a duffle bag. Also, the top three sellers across the entire league will win the following cash prizes.
1st prize - $300
2nd prize - $200
3rd prize - $100
Saturday May 31st is the deadline: The raffle is supposed to start on June 1st so please let everyone know that they need to have their $$ and stubs turned in by May 31st
Fund Raising is an important part of Billerica Little League. Each year Little League spends over $25K on town fields. This is in addition to all the hard equipment, uniforms and other expenses. Our Registration fees will not cover all these costs. We need your help.

2008 Billerica Challenger Information
The Billerica Little League Challenger Division
Players ages 6-16, as of April 30, 2008, with physical and emotional disabilities that would otherwise keep them from participating in Little League baseball will have the opportunity to play in the Billerica Little League Challenger Division. The League reaches out to the entire community to identify children who can be served by the Challenger Division. Parents who wish to have their child participate should complete a registration form and mail back to address on form.
“The Challenger Division of Little League Baseball is a program for mentally and physically disabled youth to enjoy the full benefits of Little League participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities. More than the skills of baseball learned through the experience, the value of the Billerica Little League Challenger Division will provide the therapeutic and socialization benefits of participation in sports, the strengthening of the participants; self-esteem the opportunities to mainstream into other divisions of play, and the disciplines of teamwork, citizenship and fair play which are hallmark of the Little League program.”
WHAT IS CHALLENGER BASEBALL?
Challenger is a division of Little League Baseball for children ages 6-16 who have physical or mental conditions that prevent safe participation in other baseball programs. Play is structured to allow all players to be involved as they are able. Traditional rules are modified and the focus is always on having fun while learning the game of baseball. No score is kept, each player bats every inning, and everyone plays the entire game. Each player is assigned a “Buddy” who works to ensure safety and success. A soft baseball is used for all games and practices.
Children who live in Billerica are eligible to play in the Billerica Little Leagues Challenger Program. The season begins on Sunday, April 27, 2008 and continues through the second Sunday in June. Games are held each Sunday and last approximately two hours.
