WHERE THE TRADITION BEGINS...
Berlin has long enjoyed a strong wrestling program at the High School and Middle School levels. The Berlin Parks and Recreation Department sponsored the Berlin Youth Wrestling until 2004-05. The club as of the 2005-2006 season became a full member of USA Wrestling Connecticut. Currently we have a record 62 wrestler's registered for the 2007-08 season and 58 active. Currently we have wrestlers come from Berlin, West Hartford and Rocky Hill.
This program was started to expand the interest to wrestling to the younger boys and girls who live in Berlin, CT. Over the year's many people have been involved and helped the program get to where it is today. We are open to boys & girls in grades 1 to 7.
In 2001-02 we have reached a new record for participants. We finished the season with a total of 44 youth. Our 2004-05 team stood at 38 wrestlers. The 3rd and 4th graders were crowned Champions at the Marshwood New England Kids Championships in 2005. 2005-06 our roster consisted of 37 young athletes wrestling. 2006-07 we had a record 58 wrestler's in the program.
We practice Monday and Tuesday evenings at the Old Knights of Columbus Hall. Our matches are usually scheduled for Friday evenings. If you are interested in arranging a match contact Coach Moss via e-mail.
In 2007-08 we will have the beginners and younger wrestlers practice from 5:30-6:30 PM and the advanced and older wrestlers practice from 6:30-8 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays. Fridays we will practice the early group from 5:30-6:30 PM and the late group from 6:30-7:30 PM until we have matches. The purpose of our program is to teach the fundamentals in wrestling while having fun.

Due to other programs happening the last week in June and the unavailabilty of the school in August I have decided to not hold a wrestling camp this summer. We will look to hold some clinics on Saturdays in the Fall and will let everyone know once we have finalized our plans.
