Saturday, August 30 Welcome to the 2009 Armstrong Falcons Ladies Lacrosse Website. Feel free to tour the site and understand that some pages will be for members only. I know it's not quite the same game, but certain priciples still apply (passing, catching, movement without the ball) so if you want to see some top notch men's college teams play, check this out! AND Jen Moore's brother Bobby plays at UMD as do two other AHS alums, Pat Struyzk and Alex 'Bucky' Hollingsworth. Girls High School & Youth Lacrosse
Dear Lacrosse Coaches,
I know that Fall is just arriving and it seems early for Winter Lacrosse, but the interest in Girls Lacrosse is huge and with so many more communities getting on board, well it's never too early to think about next Spring's lacrosse season!
We are already planning for the Winter season at the Prairie Dome. This year, we are offering something new to enhance lacrosse development for girls: we will provide the opportunity for girls to sign up as a team. This allows girls to practice and play together hoping to create more cohesiveness as they approach the Spring MSHSL and MSSLax seasons. We will supply coaching from experienced, local (graduated) collegiate lacrosse players for these teams. (Current High School Coaches will not be utilized per MSHSL rules). We expect to have a JV and Varsity League and also new this year a Youth League (6th-8th) !
The Winter season will run on Mondays beginning January 26th for 9-weeks for the High School players (Jan-March) and 6-weeks (Jan-March) for the Youth players and Junior Varsity. This will give the girls a head start in preparation for their spring seasons. So we are asking you to inform your players about this opportunity to get their hands on a stick in the off-season and to gain valuable practice time as a team playing together before the spring. Space is limited and sign up will be on a first come basis. Incomplete teams may be combined within each level. The Youth & JV will play 6 v 6 games with space for 4 teams (two games at a time). Varsity games will be also be half field, with 8-teams available (four games nightly).
Our goal is to continue the growth of this sport and allow as many opportunities to get girls of every age involved in lacrosse. With the success of the Minnesota High School League Lacrosse and the Minnesota Middle School Schoolgirls Lacrosse, our girls are gaining opportunities and more and more girls are discovering what a wonderful sport this truly is! It is our goal of the EPLA to encourage and devote opportunities for girls by providing coaching, opportunities to play and most of all HAVE FUN in Lacrosse!
Registration will be on-line in mid-September at www.eplacrosse.com
On behalf of the Eden Prairie Lacrosse Association, thank you for your attention. Please let me know if your players may have an interest in this opportunity. I’ll look forward to hearing from you. More details will be forthcoming.
