The American Athletics 18U Gold
The American Athletics softball organization is proud to announce our dedication to the development and success of young student athletes. Our organization is composed of several teams competing at various levels with a common goal of playing softball at the highest possible level.
The American Athletics Girls Fastpitch Softball Club was founded by Jim Bollinger in 1994 and is predicated on showcasing the exceptional talent of fundamentally sound student athletes in Southern California to colleges nationwide. Our organization emphasizes hard work, commitment and dedication both athletically and academically. We take pride in equipping our athletes with the skills necessary to compete at the collegiate level. In addition, we are committed to providing each player with the opportunities necessary to obtain a college scholarship. .
With college exposure as our main goal, the American Athletics travel across the United States and Canada seeking to compete at national as well as college showcase tournaments.
Jim Bollinger (Founder): This 3-time CIF and ASA National championship coach founded this successful organization and has build a strong foundation dedicated to the development of young student athletes. Mr. Bollinger will be providing his vast expertise in batting, defense, and pitching. Mr. Bollinger was the head coach of Orange Coast College and has been developing great softball players for the past 15 years.
Jesseka Bartholomew (Head Coach): A four-time letter winner third baseman at Yale University, Jesseka was a three-time MVP, three-time NCAA Division I Toughest to Strike Out, Team Captain, three-time All-Ivy League selection and record holder for Most Career Doubles and RBIs. Jesseka was head coach of the 18U Bulldogs, the 18U American Athletics, and the 18U American Athletics Gold.
Larry Eckel (Assistant Coach): An NCAA Division I four-year starting athlete and All-American football player at Colorado University, Larry specializes in conditioning and strength training. He has coached the 16U Desperados to Nationals multiple times, and was the head JV and assistant Varsity Coach for El Toro Softball coach.
The American Athletics Organization currently fields teams in the 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U Gold divisions. Last year (2005) four American Athletics teams qualified for ASA Nationals (10's, 12's, 16's, 18A's). During the 2004 Season - four American Athletics teams qualified for ASA Nationals (10's - National Champions, 14's, 16's, & 18Gold).
