| New age determination date set by Little League International |
| Little League International announced last May that the league age determination dates for baseball and softball would be changed. The age charts reflecting these changes have been posted on the Little League web site for several months, along with an extensive question/answer session, and a recent "Ask Little League" session on the subject. | Options for Older Players |
| Players 13 and over may want to continue playing baseball have several options. These include Little League Juniors (13-15), Seniors (14-16) or Big League (16-18), Palo Alto Babe Ruth (13-15), Los Altos/Mountain View PONY Baseball Pony (13-14) & Colt (15-16) as well as a number of travel/club teams for tournament play. Alpine and Menlo-Atherton leagues are working together to expand the fall ball programs.
The Fall Ball program is dedicated to training and development in preparation for the 2009 Spring season. The emphasis is on balanced play, improving skills and having fun.

| New Proof of Residence Requirement |

As of Fall 2008, all Minors and Majors players in Alpine West Menlo Little League will need to provide proof of residence. Please click here for a description of documents which can be submitted as proof. The process takes about five minutes to complete.

| Congratulations to our 9/10 All Stars who won both the District 52 Championship and the Section 3 Championship! |

Alpine's 9/10 All Star team not only won the District 52 Championship, but also won the Section 3 Championship which enabled them to compete for the Northern California State Championship! The Alpine/West Menlo Team, managed by Mark Martella, finished 4th in the state – a tremendous achievement and a testament to the quality of baseball being played in the Alpine/West Menlo Little League.

To be eligible to play in the Alpine/West Menlo Little League, players must be residents of:
- Menlo Park, WEST of El Camino
- Woodside
- Portola Valley, or
- Ladera

Age Eligibility (2008 spring & fall seasons):
- T-Ball (5-6): Born between 5/1/2001 - 4/30/2003
- Coach Pitch (7): Born between 5/1/2000-4/30/2001
- Pitching Machine (8): Born between 5/1/1999 - 4/30/2000
- Minors/Majors (9-12, tryouts required): Born between 5/1/1995 - 4/30/1999
- Juniors/Seniors (13-15 & 14-16, as joint leagues with MALL): Born between 5/1/1991 - 4/30/1995

All players must complete the online registration form for their division (see below) AND mail in a signed copy of the Medical Release form .
In addition, if this is your child's first year playing in this league, you must ALSO submit a copy of the player's birth certificate. Your child's registration WILL NOT be compelte until the online registration has been processed AND all necessary documents have been received.

| Late Registration and Waiting Lists |
|
Priority for team placement is determined by your registration completion date (which includes having received your paperwork). Players registering after the deadline will be placed on a waiting list and will only be assigned to a team as space becomes available. Waitlisted players are not guaranteed team placement. A $25 late fee will be added to registration costs for all late registratiions.
