Albany Area YMCA Soccer: Welcome
The Albany Area YMCA offers both Fall and Spring Youth Recreational and Select Programs. Our Youth Programs consist of 900+ players. Recreational, Select and Academy teams are offered.
Select and Academy teams are formed by tryouts which are held in early June. Under-13 and older teams play in the Georgia Youth Soccer Athena & Classic programs. The Academy (Under-12 and below) teams play in the Southern Soccer Alliance. This newly formed league includes the Albany Area YMCA, Thomas Area Soccer Association, Tift Area Soccer Association, Valdosta/Lowndes Soccer Club, Moultrie YMCA & Tallahassee United. Other guest clubs take part in league events from time to time. Additional tournaments and games are played at the teams' discretion.
Our recreational program consists of 750+ players. Teams play in our regional recreational league which includes teams from Albany, Lee County, Deerfield-Windsor School, the Marine Base, Byne School, St. Teresa's School, & Terrell Academy. Age groups include Under-5 through Under-13. Teams are coed in Under-5 and Under-6 divisions, with separate boys and girls teams offered in Under-8 through Under-13 divisions. Registration for our fall recreational season is August 2-14. Spring rec registration is in early February.
It is the YMCA's policy to provide financial assistance when available for programs and membership to those who qualify.
