WJFL Expanding for 2008!!!
Purple storm invades WJFL!!
The Wesco Jr Football League is pleased to announce that the Lake Stevens Junior Athletic Association (LSJAA) will be joining the WJFL for 2008. All of the WJFL franchises are pleased to have the LSJAA and look forward to some fun & competitive football up in Lake Stevens this next season!
WJFL Divsions Of Play
In the WJFL, teams are formed by grade just like other sports, not some made up formula of age and weight like other leagues. This eliminates the scenario of younger heavier kids being forced to play with much older and more physically and mentally mature players. For Example, 6 & 7 year olds have their own teams and are not forced to play with 9 year olds. In fact, The Mayo clinic did an analysis of body weight & injuries of youth football players and found that lighter players were not at any greater risk for injury; as a matter of fact heavier players had a slightly but not significantly higher incidence of injury.
