New Year's Day Ride!
Once again, we are having our New Year's Ride on January 1, 2008. This promises to be very exciting, as we have had a great amount of snow this year, so it ought to be challenging, but mostly fun. We will meet at 1:00 p.m. at the Quiznos restaurant at 27th Avenue West. The ride will be short and slow. One again, Al Johnson has offered his restaurant to be open, just for Velo Duluth, for a private party. Bring your bike in good working order, dress accordingly for cold weather, and let us have a great time, putting on the first mile of the year! Also, you can pay your membership for 2008. See you there!

1st Annual Halloween Ride!!
Halloween Ride!
This is our first annual festive Halloween ride. The emphasis is totally intended to be fun!
A costume is strongly encouraged, and / or decorate your bike. The ride will be on
Sunday, October 28th, 2007, at 3:30 p.m. We will meet at the Playfront area parking lot,
and we will ride to Park Point, and then perhaps on the Lakewalk. This promises to be a
very scary event. Rumor has it that PeeWee Herman and the wicked witch from the west
hillside may join us. If you cannot come in costume or with a decorated bike, the trick

Velo Duluth Party!!
When; OCT 6th Saturday at 6PM Where: Brenda Palmer's 827 W 5th St. Blue House with white trim, Upper side. This was a wonderful treat, and we were delighted with good food, good company, lots of laughter, and a generally great time by all. One fun thing was to see Doug Robertson's incredible commuter bike! Thanks to Brenda for hosting the event. Come to the next party!!

Annual Fall Color Tour
Departing from Munger trail parking lot, across from zoo, 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2007. We will proceed down Highway 23 to Duquette, stopping at the Veteran's Memorial overlook, which is 10 miles from the Munger trailhead on Highway 23. Bring about $10.00 for lunch at the Duquette General Store, where they serve great chili and sandwiches. Return to the Munger trail, probably between 2 and 3 pm. Distance
is about 30 miles each way.
Those who wish to shorten their ride and avoid the largest hill may
join us at Veterans Memorial overlook, about 10 miles from the Munger
trail, at about 10:15 AM.

Very Important MnDOT meeting
There will be a very important meeting hosted by MnDOT at Ordean Middle School on 18 September at 6:30 PM.
MnDOT is attempting to finalize plans for future traffic pattern on London Rd.
According to Tom Cotruvo, there are two scenarios:
1. London Road as a divided 4-lane from 26th Ave E. to Lester River
2. London Road as one way eastbound and Superior St. one way West bound.
Both of these would severly restrict bicycle traffic on this corridor. It is imperative that concerned cyclists attend this meeting!
