TWIN VALLEY AREA ICE HOCKEY
As we leave the summer behind, the Twin Valley Raiders would like to invite you to participate in their newest (and coolest) sport: Ice Hockey. The puck doesn’t drop for the 2008-2009 season until next fall, but the Twin Valley Area Ice Hockey Club is ready to welcome new players to its Club. Twin Valley will skate the following teams next season:- Kindergarten-4th grade;
- 5th grade -8th grade;
- 9th grade-12th grade;
- 9th through 12th grade
- Adult team (Body Zone adult league)
Where do we play? Our games and practices are at: IceLine in West Goshen, PA, Body Zone in Wyomissing, PA, and at Power Play in Lionville, PA.
Coaching. We have qualified coaches at each level, and each coach is certified through USA Hockey’s coaching program.
Does my child need to know how to skate?Your child does not need to know how to skate before signing up for the Club. We have partnered with the Power Play rink to offer a “Learn to Play” program to Twin Valley players at a discounted rate of $85 for seven sessions.
In addition, we run a Twin Valley “mini-camp” taught by former Philadelphia Flyer Jim Watson (limited space available). These 12 sessions will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sundays in September-times TBD. Cost $250/kid or $30/walk on fee. Please contact Justine Pelle at 610-587-1101 or email pelle1@comcast.net if you are interested in these programs.
How much does it cost?The cost is determined by the number of players on each team divided by the cost for the season’s ice rental and game schedule, combined with the success/failure of fundraisers. We understand that ice hockey can be an expensive sport, and our primary mission is to make this great sport affordable for those that want to play. A realistic figure to expect to pay for our season is approximately $800.Where can I get equipment?Play It Again Sports offers a 5% discount on purchases, and they will donate another 5% to the Club at the end of the season. Just mention “Twin Valley Ice Hockey” to receive the discounts.The internet has many discount sites, too, but only buy from these if you know the size and fit of the equipment.

Additionally, the Club has loaner equipment for beginners, and we also have an extensive amount of “gently used” equipment for sale through our Club members. We find that the best source of equipment is from other ice hockey families.
