Ashburn Shooting Stars Gold 16U: Welcome

MD/DC ASA REGIONAL CHAMPIONS - 7/12/08

The ASHBURN SHOOTING STARS 16U GOLD is a girl's fast pitch tournament softball team affiliated with the Ashburn Girl's Softball League (AGSL). The goal of our organization is to help young female athletes develop their softball skills at a highly competitive level while learning about teamwork and sportsmanship. SHOOTING STAR NEWS:

 

***The Stars proved they are peaking at the right time by winning the MD/DC  ASA Regional Qualifier July 12th.  Bringing home the Championship title earned the team a berth to ASA Nationals in Kentucky.  Way to go Stars***

 

*** The Ashburn Shooting Stars were shining (despite the rain) at the PA PONY Firecracker Showcase, June 27-29.  The team finished pool play undefeated, outscoring their opponents 44-1, to be seeded in the Gold 18U Bracket.  The girls rallied together, adding 3 more wins to make it to the Championship Game.  The Stars finished the weekend with a 7-1 record and earned second place out of 57 teams playing at the 18U level. *** 

 

***Shooting Stars Gold were declared Runner's Up at the Virginia NSA State Championship, June 21-22, 2008 in Richmond Virginia.  The girls endured 2 long days filled with weather delays, but their hard work paid off.  Good Job Gold! ***

Congratulations Shooting Stars...Champions of the Prince William Fall Challenge,  October 13-14, 2007.   This 1st place finish earned the team a berth to the 2008 NSA World Series.  Great weekend ladies!!

 

Ashburn's 16 U Gold Team was Runner - Up in the USSSA Fear the Fastpitch Tournament held at Backman Sports Complex on September 29, 2007.   They had a 4-1 record for the day, holding their opponents scoreless until the Championship game against the Severna Park Hornets which they lost in ITB.

The Stars finished 3rd at the ASA First Responder's Cup Sept  8-9.  They went 3-1 for the weekend.  Great start to the new season.

Congratulations to Jenn Soroka & Anna Blessing for 2 back to back undefeated seasons and AA Virginia State Championship Titles.  Broad Run finished 2008 by being ranked #1 in the Nation by the USA Today.  Way to go Broad Run!!!
