PLL members,
I want to take this opportunity to recognize two individuals for their dedication and volunteerism to the Poquoson Little League (PLL), Beth Biscan and Bob Sherrill. Both have contributed tremendous amounts of their energy and time to the league this year and deserve recognition for their efforts.
Beth serves as a board member as the Ways and Means Director. As director she organized, helped, and initiated the start of our concessions this year. The concessions have been a huge success and have made profits to support PLL. Beth should also be credited with the collection of sponsors both for team sponsorships and banner sponsorships. She coordinated the purchase of uniforms for the teams and for the first time introduced replica “Minor league” team uniforms into our league. The kids loved them and the new names such as Mud Cats, Muck Dogs, Blue Claws, Sand Gnats, and Timber Rattlers were a big success! Beth also manages a minor league team and is an inspiration to all who volunteer.
Bob serves as a board member as the Safety Officer for our league and is dedicated to making our league one of the best. He has dedicated his time and efforts building one of the best little league websites I’ve ever seen. Bob also puts on the uniform and dedicates his time umpiring many games through out the season. He has also picked up the responsibility as Umpire in Charge, halfway through the season, and has coordinated umpires for the various age groups with in our league. Bob is behind the mask and a behind the scenes type of guy on his computer but a valuable asset to our league.
I want to recognize these two individuals because the time and efforts they have shared in our organization and our community stands far above the normal call and contributions of others who volunteer! When you see them out and about, give them a big thanks!
