Fall Evaluations If you are interested in playing Little League baseball in the spring of 2009 please attend the Fall Evaluations. When: Sunday, October 19th, 2008 Where: Lyons Field Time: 1:00pm - 8 yr olds (if they wish to be considered for AA; i.e., no evaluation needed for Farm League) 2:00pm - 9 yr olds 3:00pm - 10 yr olds 4:00pm - 11 & 12 yr olds Age determination: Age of the child on 4-30-09 Players who were on a Majors team last spring do NOT need to attend these evaluations. If you can not make it: It has not yet been determined whether or not there will be an additional evaluation held. If there is we will notify everyone (and post the information here). If there is no make-up held then we will use the coach's evaluation from last year to aid in team placement.

The league is an all-volunteer organization and we could always use more help. Your help with all sorts of league activities (coaching, concessions, umpiring, field maintenance, etc.) would be greatly appreciated! Email info@newtonwestll.org to find out how you can pitch in. Divisions For more information on the various divisions or levels of play in Newton West Little League (Tee-ball, Farm, AA, AAA, and Majors) including eligibility and scheduling information please click on one of the following formats: Word, Rich Text, or PDF. Eligibility Newton West Little League Baseball is open to boys and girls ages 5-12. Little League age is the child's age as of April 30, 2006; that is players must be at least 5 years old on or before April 30, 2008 and 12 or less on April 30, 2008. There is no residency requirement for tee-ball but for all the other levels of play you must be a resident of, though not necessarily attending, the Burr, Franklin, or Williams school districts. Schedule The spring season runs from early April through late June. Games are generally scheduled twice a week - once on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday beginning sometime between 5:30 and 6:00 and again on the weekend (mostly on Saturday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm though the Majors play on Sunday at either 1:00 or 3:00 pm). Some of the upper divisions (AA,AAA, Majors) will have an occasional week of three games. For more information please click on one of the following formats: Word, Rich Text, or PDF. There is a "tryout" (or more appropriately an evaluation) for children 8 years old and older. An announcement will be sent out via email and posted here when that date is set. Residency Requirement For the spring season only, all divisions, except for T-ball, you must live in the Burr, Franklin, or Williams school district. You do not need to be attending, or have attended, one of these schools but you must be a resident within one of those school districts. For other schools please see the list further down the page.
