Assistant Field Hockey Coach (Intern) - Muhlenberg College

 

Muhlenberg College, a Centennial Conference (Div. III) member, seeks assistant coaching intern in Field Hockey.  Bachelor’s degree and past playing and/or coaching experience required, collegiate level preferred.  Responsibilities include assisting head coach in all phases of the Field Hockey program within college, conference and NCAA rules and regulations; includes evaluating, identifying, and recruiting prospective student-athletes; and planning and implementing strategies into daily practices.  Compensation is housing, meals, and approximately a $5,000 stipend. The position is 9 months and the anticipated start date is August 1st, 2008.

Head Field Hockey Coach - Stonehill College

Stonehill College, a NCAA Division II institution and member of the Northeast-10 Conference, seeks applications for the position of Head Field Hockey Coach. The successful candidate will be expected to plan, organize, direct, and implement all phases of a NCAA Division II field hockey program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Identifying and recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes (with partial athletic scholarship funding), supervision of assistant coaches, organize and implement practice and competition strategies, participate in fund-raising and community engagement efforts, insure adherence to all NCAA, Northeast-10 Conference, and Stonehill College rules and regulations by student-athletes and staff. This will be a full-time (9 months) position with limited athletic administration responsibilities.

Qualifications/Skill Requirement: Bachelor’s degree and prior collegiate coaching experience required, proven ability to train, motivate, and lead student-athletes in a professional manner, excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to serve as a mentor and leader, thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, personal computer and related software skills are all desired.  We are also looking for candidates with an understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds of college students, faculty and staff.

Head Field Hockey/Lacrosse Coach - Simmons College

Head Coach, Field Hockey / Lacrosse (Full-time, 9 month position) Position Overview: Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the incumbent will be responsible for the administration of an NCAA Division III Women's Field Hockey and Lacrosse program to: (a) ensure the health, well being and academic success of the student-athletes; (b) develop the teams to annually compete in the top half of the athletic conference with the goal of post season competition; (c) Develop and conduct a new lacrosse intercollegiate team. Position Summary: The incumbent will develop, plan and direct implementation of field hockey and lacrosse teams on campus; plan and direct the training and performance of team members; recruit and retain high quality student-athletes; ensure that the program complies strictly to all NCAA, and Athletics Department rules, policies and procedures; supervise and evaluate assistant coaches in the performance of their duties; work with Student-Athlete Services to promote and monitor student-athlete academic progress; assist in activities relating to fundraising and community service; promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the university; cooperate professionally with all members of the university community and media; support the department's commitment to diversity; and perform all usual and standard duties of a Division III head coach. Management / Supervisory duties include interviewing, selecting, and training of assistant coaches. Assist in winter home game management.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred); a minimum of two years experience in coaching field hockey and lacrosse at the collegiate level; a history of success as a coach, assistant coach or student-athlete in the sports as evidenced by sustained won/loss record; demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with student-athletes, administrators, support staff and community group; demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and project a professional approach and attitude. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree, CPR/AED, thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and a history of rules compliance, and a proven track record of recruitment and retention of high-quality, successful student-athletes.

Assistant Field Hockey Coach - The College of Wooster
THE COLLEGE OF WOOSTER (NCAA Division III) is seeking applications and nominations for an ASSISTANT FIELD HOCKEY COACH (Intern Position)  with secondary responsibilities in WOMEN’S LACROSSE for the 2008-09 season.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The intern will assist the head women's field hockey coach in all aspects of administering and coaching the Division III intercollegiate program with emphasis on recruiting (on and off campus), team conditioning, daily instruction in practices, and assisting with preseason. In addition, the intern will assist in the Spring with coaching in the Women’s Lacrosse program.  Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Athletics.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree and college field hockey playing or coaching experience. Lacrosse coaching and playing experience is also desired. Goalkeeper coaching or playing experience is desired in either sport, but not necessary.
 
COMPENSATION: Salary and benefits commensurate of qualifications.  Appointment to be from mid-August through mid-May.

Assistant Field Hockey Coach - University of Maine
The University of Maine is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Field Hockey Coach/ Lecturer in Physical Education.  This is a full-time, fiscal year appointment.  This NCAA Division 1 program competes in the AMERICA EAST conference. 

Responsibilities:  assist with the evaluation and recruitment of prospective student
athletes; monitor academic progress, including advising, mentoring and
instructing as assigned, adhere to all Conference, University and NCAA rules and
regulations; assist with on field coaching, practices and games with emphasis on

Qualifications:  bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred; experience playing and/or coaching at the Division I level or international playing and/or coaching experience equivalent to Division 1 level preferred.; excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills; experience in college recruiting preferred; ability to travel, normally requiring a valid driver's license; demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules and regulations; demonstrated

Assistant Field Hockey Coach/Part-Time - Denison University

Denison University, an NCAA Division III  private liberal arts institution located 35 miles east of Columbus, Ohio seeks applications for the part-time position of Assistant Field Hockey Coach starting August 11, 2008 through December 1, 2008. 

Responsibilities:
The Assistant Field Hockey Coach will report to the Head Coach, and is responsible for assisting the head coach in all phases of the organization, development and supervision of the field hockey program.  This includes but is not limited to assisting with:  (1) coaching goalies; assistance with individual skill training (2) planning and coordination of practices; (3) recruiting and supervising student-athletes; (4) game preparations and planning and (5) scouting opponents.
