Friday, June 6 IT'S TIME TO REGISTER FOR THE 2009 ANNUAL CONVENTION & COACHES CLINIC The NFHCA Office is pleased to announce that the 2009 NFHCA Annual Convention & Coaches Clinic will be held January 15-18, 2009 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Philadelphia Downtown Marriott Hotel will serve as the host hotel. The NFHCA Annual Convention & Coaches Clinic is the coaches association's marquis event. Held each year during the month of January, the Annual Convention & Coaches Clinic attracts over 600 college, high school, junior high school, and club coaches as well as umpires from across the United States. This event gives member coaches and umpires an opportunity to not only learn new skills and tactics, but also to interact with and exchange ideas with fellow coaches and umpires. The fun-filled mixture of business meetings, speakers and socials makes this an event that members look forward to attending each year. This year's convention is scheduled to begin on Thursday, January 15th for college coaches and will begin on Friday, January 16th for high school, junior high school and club coaches as well as for umpires. The convention will adjourn at noon on Sunday, January 18th. Your one-time registration fee will cover the cost of all meetings, speakers, meals and receptions held during your stay in Philadelphia. The NFHCA Office is pleased to announce that Cheryl Torino has been named as the first ever NFHCA Director of Events & Publications. A 2006 graduate of Quinnipiac University and a current Part-Time Assistant at her alma mater, Torino will initially be responsible for running the NFHCA Senior All-Star Games as well as Senior Night and the Recruiting Seminar. She will also play a major role in the planning and execution of the Annual Convention. This guide has been compiled in an effort to provide high school student-athletes and their parents with a reference tool to be used during the college selection process. Topics covered in this twenty-two page guide include the Top 10 DOs and DON'Ts of the college selection process, a timeline for the prospective student-athlete, an overview of NCAA Recruiting Rules for Division I, Division II and Division III as well as questions that a student-athlete should ask the college coach.
