WELCOME! WELCOME! WELCOME! THE 2007-2008 SEASON HAS BEGUN!
WE ARE A CLUB OF MUSHING (SLED-DOGS) ENTHUSIASTS LOOKING TO PROMOTE THE ENJOYMENT OF RAISING AND RACING SLED DOGS. WE ARE BASED IN THE SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND AREA AND HAVE BEEN OPERATING AS A CLUB SINCE 1974. MEMBERS AGES RANGE FROM 6 TO 60 AND MEMBERS HAVE AS LITTLE AS ONE DOG TO AS MANY AS 30 DOGS. OUR RACES ARE HELD AT THE ARCADIA MANAGEMENT AREA, EXETER, RHODE ISLAND, AND THE FREETOWN STATE FOREST, FREETOWN MASSACHUSETTS. OUR SCHEDULE STARTS WITH TRAINING "CLINICS" HELD IN THE FINAL SUNDAYS IN OCTOBER (AS LONG AS THE WEATHER IS COLD ENOUGH) AND CONTINUES THROUGHOUT THE FALL AND WINTER.

Race Cancelled!!
The race on December 16, 2007 in arcadia has been cancelled due to onset of inclement weather. Rain will ruin the trail, snow and wind would make traveling difficult.
Picnic and Awards scheduled for Saturday, August 11, 2007
The annual picnic and awards will be held at Sean's house in Westport, MA. If you are interested in coming, (member or not, all interested parties welcomed) please contact the club by E-mail listed. The club will provide hamburgers and hot dogs, soft drinks, and chips.

January 6, 2008, Freetown State Forest, Freetown, MA
February 3, 2008, Douglas State Forest, Douglas, MA (New Location!!)
February 24, 2008, (Freetown)
March 9, 2008 (makeup date) place to be announced....
All races go off at 10:00 Am.
Clinocs for beginners or those interested in the sport start November 5, 2006 at 9:00 Am at the Freetown State Forest...

Remember all of our racing/training locations are public facilities, please be courteous when there are other people(horses, hunters, bikers..) using the trails. Everyone has a right to use them.....

FLUORESCENT ORANGE IS THE COLOR OF THE SEASON.....
Just a reminder..... all participants and spectators, must wear orange when attending the events in Arcadia Manangement area. This is a Rhode Island Law, AND a good idea. Let's make sure everyone is safe. For those of you who may have extra orange, please bring some for people who may show up to watch the races.
I think the snow is about to fall...
Welcome back!!! Now's the time to start evaluating dogs and equipment for the upcoming season. The club has been contacted regarding some dogs that are available. Ben Thomas has some good dogs, of all ages/sizes/and colors. Tom Kowalcky knows of a dog that needs a home, He is Black and White (Becki take note). Contact the club for more info. Some equipment is for sale, check out the Message boards.....
