The April Metro Girls Softball meeting was held at Brennan's on Wednesday, April 2 @8:00 pm

We continued our scheduling efforts by cleaning up those few outstanding games for May's schedule. 

When we adjourned the meeting on April 2, all games scheduled for May 2008 were considered final and will be published to the umpire services for assignment. Changes to May's scheduled games after the April meeting will incur a fine of $50.

Dennis Ferris presented softball rules interpretations and took questions from the audience for various scenarios. 

Game balls were distributed to 14U and 16U teams and to those 10U and 12u teames having a game before the next meeting. The remainder of the teams at 10U, 12U and others will receive balls at the May 7th meeting.

PONY registration numbers were made available to all Metro Girls teams. These numbers will be needed to enter any Pony Qualifier tournaments such as Lancaster's. Any team that did not receive their Pony registration number can contact Joe Komoroske at joekmetrosoftball@verizon.net

Our March meeting on March 5 was devoted to scheduling games for the 2008 season.

 Each team was represented in their respective age group to schedule 12 games, or more. That representative had the knowledge and authority to make decisions for the team they represent. Scheduling blackout sheets were provided at the February meeting. Scheduling sheets were submitted to division coordinators  at the end of the meeting.

 Team entry fees of $325 were due at this meeting for 10U, 12U & 14U teams and $400 for 16U, 18U and 23U teams. Insurance payments were also due at this meeting and are $125 per team for 10U to 18U teams and $140 for 23U teams.

The next Metro Girls Softball meeting will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 6 at Brennan's

We will discuss the upcoming season, pass out scheduling forms and meet by division. Appropriate topics for each age group will be presented for the group's review and consensus. 

Team entry fees and insurance payments will be accepted for the 2008 season  at this meeting and will be due by the March meeting.

Welcome to 2008 Metro Girls Softball!!

Our first meeting was held Wednesday, January 9 at 7:00 pm at Brennan's Bowery Bar and Restaurant. Brennan's is located in the Clarence Plaza at Transit Rd. (Rt. 78) and Main St. (Rt. 5).

 The first meeting was devoted to announcements regarding the 2008 softball season, team insurance registration and other pertinent topics of interest.

ASA Team insurance for 2008 will be $125 per team for 10U - 18U teams. Adult teams will be $155 per team. ASA registration is included in these fees.

Metro League Team entry fees will be $250. per team.

Team umpire escrow will be $75 for 10U, 12U, 14U teams.

Team umpire escrow will be $150 for 16U, 18U - 23U teams.

Total fees per team:

10U, 12U, 14U: $325 without insurance, $450 with insurance

16U, 18U: $400 without insurance, $525 with insurance

23U (Open): $400 without insurance, $555 with insurance.

Checks should be endorsed to Metro Girls Softball League. Fees may be paid at the February meeting, but must be paid in full by the March 5th meeting. Insurance may be paid at any time prior to the team entry payment deadline. Insurance coverage is effective approximately 10 days after payment is received.
