MASS DESTRUCTION STARTed 2008 STRONG..

The 18U Mass Destruction Started there 2008 season in good Form. they played in the 23U Tourney in Lowell finishing 2nd to the Raiders.Besides having to beat the heat the Team came up strong on sat and was 1 of only 3 Teams to go without a Loss after Pool play. The Tourney started off against a tuff Portland team that was close with great pitching from all 3 girls till they strung together some timely hitting and finally took control of the game and went on to win 6-1. The next game against the NH Storm was Dog Fight till the end with stellar defense. The mass destruction turned 2 double plays and many other strong plays leading to a 0 0 tie.The last game of the day against the Cougars Started off strong but did not finish well. The ladies came out pounding the ball and took a 10 -3 lead. However, the cougars didn't quit and some timely errors allowed them to come all the way back for a 10 -10 tie .

On Sunday the Team again came out in the Heat Ready to play. Once again they played a good stingray team that kept the game close till the last cple innings when the ladies of mass D started pulling away..the went on to win this one 5-1. The next game against the NH Storm was the toughest of the w/e. Mass destruction took a 1-0 lead into the 6th only to give up the tying run on a past ball...the next inning went scorless and the game was into extra innings. The Storm scored in the top 1/2 of the inning and then got the first 2 outs in the Bottom 1/2...However, again the girls showed there grit and put together 3 Solid hits in a row and won the game 3-2... It was then off to the semis to face the Cougars again.....Again, the Destruction started off strong and took an early lead and built it to 6-1...This time they did not let them back in and won 6-2. It was finally to the Finals after being out on the field for 10 hours and the Heat to play there Arch Rival....Raiders. The mass Destruction came out strong and took a quick lead in the first 2 innings...The Raiders scored one in 3rd to close gap..But in the 4th the Detruction had a tough inning and let the Raiders take a 9-2 lead...The girls did not quit scoring 2 in the 5th and 3 in the sixth which eventually led to a 10-7 losss....
After all said and done and injuries that occurred the Mass Destruction had a very good w/e.

The sched does not get any easier for the Team as they head to the Fathers day Bash in Leominster this w/e to again face the Raisders on sat along with 2 other very good Teams..bay State Brats and NH Elite...

Mass Destruction is in its 8th Year at the 18U level. Our Goal as a Team is to help each Girl be there best while getting them College exposure and reading themselves for there next level of play. We encourage and teach the girls about being positive through the good and bad while having fun playing the game they love..... Over the last 8 years we have complied a record of 237-73-18. In last 5 years at the 18U level we won the N.S.A. Championship (twice), the ASA State championship once and finished 9th at The Pony Nationals (twice) and 16th the other year out in North Carolina. Last year (2007) we won 2 Tourney's, played in the and ASA states(3rd), 3 College Showcases as well as Travelling to the WFC World Series in Myrtle Beach and finishing 5th.

The Coaching Staff of Mass Destruction would like to thank all the Young Ladies that tried out this fall for our 2008 Summer Team. Once again We had a lot of good talent to choose from and have put together another very solid Team which again will make us one of the strongest 18U Teams in Mass.
