LEGS jumps to 9-2 on the season
BreannaF
Fosdick makes a run in North Platte.
The win streak grew to eight as LEGS dropped Lincoln High, April 22, but the weekend's double-header with North Platte and Kearney proved more trying. Junior Morgan Bohl's sudden death shoot-out score won the morning game against North Platte. The afternoon game versus Kearney was a convincing 2-0 win. Senior Breanna Fosdick led scorers with 3 goals on the day. LEGS out-shot opponents 43-8 on the day.

LEGS downed Lincoln Northstar 2-0 Thursday, April 3, stringing its third win in row after a come-from-behind win at Omaha Burke Saturday and a win over Fremont Tuesday at home.

Despite out-shooting the Silverhawks 17-11, LEGS fell to Southwest 0-4 Tuesday, March 18, on a blustery spring day at Seacrest. East found the net first when senior Erin Reynoldson slid the ball inside the far post off Alexa Ross's corner, but the play was ruled off-sides and LSW took control 2-0 by half-time. Sophomore keeper Brittany Toth made her first start and played the entire game, recording 7 saves.

The Journal Star rankings came out this week: East appears at no. 10 behind two other Lincoln schools. Seems LEGS is being called to defend its legacy as conference and city champs for several years running.

LEGS' opens season with win over G.I.

An 8-0 season opener at Den Hartog field seemed an appropriate start. Senior Deanne Schmidt led with 2 goals and 2 assists as the Spartans out-shot the Islanders 38-4. Six other Spartans found the net, including Catie Dahl, Natalie Ebke, Amanda Olson, Kellie Howe, Whitney Schumacher, and Erin Reynoldson.

The shut-out was shared by Nicole Gingery and Brittany Toth.

Some LEGS history . . .

LEGS Wins 2nd Consecutive STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
A beautiful night became even better after the 2005 version of LEGS made history with a repeat State Championship. The Spartan girls defeated a determined Columbus team 1-0 to claim the crown. Jami Tomasek hit a long blast from the middle of the field over the outstretched arms of the Columbus keeper to account for the game's only goal. Our T-shirts proclaimed, "Individuals Play the Game, Teams Win Championships." A prophetic irony as this was truly a team effort. Incredible defense. The state's best goalkeeper. An offense that keeps fighting and scratching for goals. A great coaching staff and the absolute best fans in the tournament. It all adds up to another trophy for the case. I repeat...WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!! Congratulations girls...you earned it!

Lincoln East Girls STATE CHAMPIONS!
Lincoln East Girls Soccer team defeated Millard North tonight 3-0, to win the State Championship title. This is the first Lincoln high school to win the title! This team also finished with an undefeated record of 17-0, scoring 100 goals for the season with only 5 against them. They also recorded 13 shut outs!

Absolutely an unbelievable season!

Congratulations to the girls on this team who worked hard all year and had fun along the way! Thanks also goes to Coach Mo and Coach Garcia for leading the path so smoothly.
