Sportsmanship - New York Times article on sportsman ship in softball. Little League Minimum Play Requirements All players have to meet the little league minimum play requirements which is 6 defensive outs and 1 at bat and that sometimes requires the coaches to pull starting players and bench them. Could the parents please be a little more understanding on this issue. We have had a lot of parents complain because their child has been pulled and give the coaches a hard time about it. MANAGERS & COACHES: Mandatory CPR Training: Little League mandates that at least one manager or coach on each team be certified in CPR. Call the American Red Cross, or take the surprisingly good online class at www.emergencyuniversity.com Hillsborough County Coaching Certification Classes: See the updated schedule. Hillsborough mandates that all managers & coaches must be certified and carry your card to each practice & game. General Board Meeting: The Keystone Little League board met with parents, coaches and managers in a general meeting on Feb 20, 2008. You can download the presentation deck over here. Team Sponsors and Advertising Banners: Have you noticed the team sponsor names on the back of the Spring uniforms and the advertising banners hanging on the backstops & outfield fences? The sale of these sponsorships and ads benefits KLL greatly, but is also a great way to advertise your company. Please click on the HANDOUTS tab at left for more information or contact board member Carolyn Rogers at 925-1221, or click here to download the form. IMPORTANT SAFETY Reminders: ADULTS, please take responsibility for all the kids & tell them when you see them breaking these safety rules: NO SWINGING BATS OUTSIDE OF THE FIELD OR CAGES. NO SCOOTERS, SKATEBOARDS, BIKES OR OTHER WHEELED TRANSPORTATION DEVICES AT THE PARK. They pose too great of a risk for the pedestrians -- some who are small, some who are elderly, some who are carrying food or babies. Please leave these wheels at home. Message from the President Thank you for registering your child for Keystone Little League's Spring 2008 season. We look forward to a fun-filled season of learning and cooperating. KLL continues to grow and we will soon reach our field capacity. Please encourage the county to build more fields for our players so that we do not have to turn kids away. Please email or call:
We want all players and spectators at our park to have a positive experience. With that in mind, please read and adhere to the Code of Conduct you signed on page 2 of the application form, as well as the Little League Pledges below. Sincerely, Tom Brennan, KLL Board President LITTLE LEAGUE PLEDGE PARENT & VOLUNTEER PLEDGE Rescheduled or cancelled games procedure:
Violations of Little League Code of Conduct/Pledge for Parents and Volunteers: As some of you may be aware, there have recently been a few shocking incidents involving verbal or physical altercations between parents and/or coaches in our baseball/softball community. The board has discussed and voted on measures against those involved. Please know that only positive support of and respect for players, managers and umpires is allowed. KLL will not tolerate any behavior in violation of the Little League Code of Conduct/Pledge, including but not limited to aggressive verbal arguing, physical altercations, endangerment of children, or other behavior that is disrespectful of players, coaches, umpires or other parents. Consequences of such behavior will be punished by a minimum 2 week suspension from the park & possibly for the remainder of the year. Please help us by reporting any future incidents to a board member. All board member email addresses and phone numbers can be found in the Volunteer Board Member section of our website. Please keep in mind the Little League Parent/Volunteer Pledge below. This important pledge is posted on our bulletin boards as well as 4 outfield banners at our park to remind us all of the positive behavior we should be showing. Little League is mostly a recreational activity with a small competitive component. It is mainly about teaching the children how to play a game as well as lessons about sportsmanship and teamwork that can be applied in other areas of life. Let's keep this a simple and fun way to spend time with our families and neighbors.
EVERYONE: Please tell your team to check this website often for important announcements. The webaddress is posted on the new KLL outfield banners. Click on the TEAMS tab at left to find your team's webpage. SURVEY: Please respond to this survey below... |
