HCTB Rainout Policies and Notes
The home team coach is responsible for assessing their field and initially determining its suitability for play. This should be done no later than 3 hours prior to game time.
If unplayable, the home team coach should investigate if the game can be moved to another field, including the opposing team's field, or rescheduled to another time or date.
HCUA must be notified 2 hours prior to game time of any changes - start time, location, or posteponement. Failure to provide notification at least 2 hours prior to game time may make the teams liable for a 1/2 fee cancellation fee! HCUA contact: Deb Schimming, ltlschim3@juno.com, 410-692-2778 home, 410-322-9707 mobile.
After arrival, the Umpire has ultimate authority for determining if a field is suitable for play, and their judgement is final. Cancellation fees may be assessed if in their judgement a good faith field assessment was not perfomed by the coach in a timely manner beforehand.
Your Division President and HCUA should be notified of all rescheduled games as soon as possible.

OUR MISSION...

ABOUT HCTB:
The Harford County Travel Baseball League is associated with the various Parks and Recreation Councils of Harford County, Maryland. HCTB is a rec-based travel program focused on supporting the community programs across Harford County. Players must register and adhere to their resident rec council requirements to participate in HCTB. The league consists of 7 age divisions (8U through 14U), and includes both weekend-only and full-time play options. Each year several teams participate in various regional, state and national tournaments, and Harford County provides the Host Team to the Ripken World Series hosted here in Harford County, Maryland.
Always looking to improve, in 2004 HCTB formed an alliance with Ripken Baseball to provide our players with increased opportunities for competitive tournament play and the exposure to "The Ripken Way" of enjoying the game of baseball. For 2006 HCTB worked with the Mid-Maryland Travel Association (MMTA), the state's largest travel organization with over 200 teams representing over 70 regions throughout Maryland, to provide additional full-time travel playing opportunties for the highest-achieving youth of our county. In 2007, HCTB was once again moving forward with a cooperative arrangement with the Baltimore County Major League (BCML) travel league, the premier travel organization of Baltimore County, to expand our league schedule to include inter-league play. In all of these alliances, HCTB continues to strive to improve the quality, competitiveness, and experience of travel baseball for all youth in Harford County, all the while keeping the game "fun" for all that participate.
As the commissioner for our ALL-VOLUNTEER operated HCTB League, I salute all of our coaches, league officers, participating rec councils, the Harford County Parks and Recreation program, and other supporters for making our league possible. Whether you are a returning coach or first-time visiitor, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or suggestions regarding our league!
Yours in baseball,
Perry Gentry
