Welcome to Highlands Little League - Baseball and Softball for Ages 5 through 16
Serving East Battle Ground, WA and Brush Prairie, WA.
About Highlands Little League:
Highlands Little League is a baseball and softball program that encourages participation from all levels of player, and includes a Challenger Division. The objective of HLL is to implant firmly in the children of our community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority, so that they may be well adjusted, stronger and happier children. All volunteers are required to complete a background check before working with any children.
Divisions:
T-Ball Ages 5-6
Boy and girls are taught the fundamentals of hitting and fielding with no score being kept. Each child will bat one time per inning and all children will play in various positions in the field for a total of 3 innings.
Pee Wee Baseball and Softball Ages 7-8
Coach-pitch and kid-pitch play. There are no walks or stealing in Pee Wee. Scores are kept for these games. Players use this time to devleop and strengthen their interest in playing baseball.
Minors Baseball and Softball Ages 9-10
Real baseball and softball players start to bud at this level. All-Star teams are formed at the end of the season at this level.
Majors Baseball and Softball Ages 11-12
This level is the culmination of the Little League experience. All Star teams are formed at the end of the season, with the World Champion team crowned in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Juniors Ages 13-14
Little League doesn't end at 12 years - this is real baseball. Juniors play on regulation size fields and are preparing for high school ball. Games are played at Lewisville Park.
Challenger Ages 5-18
The Challenger divison was established in 1989 as a separate divison of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical or mental disabilities to enjoy the game of baseball. The true spirit of the game can be seen in the faces of the children playing in this divison every Saturday at 10:00 A.M. Please come!

Practice!
HLL strives to make the baseball season a positive experience for all involved. Practices vary, depending on the level, with most teams practicing one hour twice a week. It is up to the volunteer coach and manager to determine practice schedules for their team. We expect each child to attend practices and give their best effort!
Baseball is more than drills and skills. It is about teamwork and learning sportsmanship. Coaches encourage players in every way possible to be a good role model and friend to their teammates.
Volunteer!
HLL is a volunteer organization. We depend on everyone pitching in to have a successful season. There are many ways to help, such as coaching, team parent, field maintenance, umpiring, scorekeeping, and joining the board. For more information on how you can volunteer, click on the "Board" link (see panel on left) and feel free to send a message to any of our active Board members on how you would like to get involved!
Sponsor!
Consider sponsoring a team! We are a non-profit organization that depends on the generosity of local businesses and families for support. Team sponsorship is only $300 per year.

- 2004 Minors Baseball
