Roster of
players from September 1st to September 1st must be given
to DCBA Board no later than October 1st for the current season.
Commitment:
The commitment term will be for one year from September 1st
to September 1st for all players and management of teams. It was recommended that a contract be drawn
up from each team for clarity of commitment.
Players may be moved as alternates
within the Sunday Select teams of DCBA.
However, the player still must meet age requirements and the alternate
event cannot be in conflict with the originating teams events.
An7 player may be released by the
Manager of a Sunday Select Team, due to lack of participation. Additionally, should any player choose not
to fulfill the commitment; that player may NOT be recruited by another
Sunday Select Team, until after the new term begins.
No additional registration forms are
needed, as all players are required to participate in DCBA regular season ball.
Equipment:
In the event a Sunday Select team disbands, all equipment
becomes the property of DCBA. It will
then be reissued to another Sunday Select team or disbursed according to the
DCBA Board of Directors.
Dual Membership:
It was agreed upon that DCBA ball players could benefit by
being able to play in sanctioned events.
Therefore, the following provisions have been made: Dual Membership (ie. AAU, USSSA, or other),
may be held by team members (Managers excluded), provided:
1.
The roster submitted to DCBA Board is used during
tournament play.
2. Only
events that do not conflict with regular season (Spring/Fall) or All Star
events may be considered.
3. Individual
team managers will determine what events warrant participation.
4. When
traveling it is understood that the insurance from the other organization will
be in effect.
Fundraising:
Sunday Select teams may fundraise individually. In doing so, it was recommended that a team
bank account be maintained. Bank of
Hampton Roads was recommended, as they won’t charge monthly fees. It was additionally recommended that this
account be set up for two signature checks with three people (one not
associated with the team) as signers.
See the DCBA Treasurer for more information.
As approval by the DCBA Board, Bingo can be part of the
fundraising for Sunday Select teams, with the following guidelines:
1.
Each team will have three volunteers from 6:00 pm through
Close of Game each designated Thursday.
Volunteers must be registered members of DCBA for at least 30 days prior
to date of volunteering. Youth under 18
must have written parental consent on file with the Bingo Trustee, and be at
least 12 years of age.
2. Each team
will participate in at least 5 of the 7 Thursdays during the summer session, in
order for the team to be eligible for fundraising money to be earned.
Any Sunday Select team that does not fulfill the obligation
of 3 volunteers per game and attend at least 5 of 7 Thursday’s during the
summer session, will forfeit all of the team earnings to the DCBA General
Fund. No exceptions will be made! All volunteer sign-ups will be through the
Bingo Trustee.
Fifty percent of the profit from Bingo will be divided
among participating Sunday Select teams.
Bingo dates also available to Sunday Select teams are:
1.
Thanksgiving Day, 100% of the profit being divided among
teams participating.
2. November
1st through February 28th (off season). These dates are subject to change based on
the September General Meeting. This
will be $750.00, divided among teams that participated.
These
guidelines have been made and approved by the DCBA board, which allows the
league to maintain the Bingo fundraising year round. Without the efforts of these teams the league would be limited to
a few select months in which to raise money through this venue.
