MISSION STATEMENT:

Deep Creek Baseball Association, Inc. (DCBA) is a non-profit organization that is the administrative body for Pony baseball and fast pitch softball for all community youth between the ages of 5 and 18. DCBA is grouped into leagues comprised of two-year age brackets.  Each league is designed to help young people develop into better adults through participation in organized, supervised, competitive athletics.  The positive characteristics that result from participating in the DCBA organized league play are trustworthiness, respect for self and others, responsibility, fairness, caring, good citizenship and good sportsmanship in winning and in accepting defeat.

"The primary objective of the DCBA is to mold the youth of the community into ethical young adults. The ethics and ideals that DCBA strives to instill in our youth are trustworthiness, respect for self and others, responsibility, fairness, caring, teamwork, good citizenship and good sportsmanship. The objective will be achieved by providing a supervised baseball and softball program where the emphasis is placed on encouraging each player to strive for his/her personal best, both on and off the field. Life lessons of fair-play are supported, rather than winning games at all cost."

Since DCBA relies entirely upon volunteers to effectively function and to provide our service to the youth of our community, active participation of parents and guardians is required. No person who is a member, or who is in any way connected with DCBA, shall receive any personal financial benefit or monetary compensation for their involvement with the operation, coaching, maintenance or administration of any DCBA activity. 

All players, regardless of their prior experience or skill level, will receive a fair share of playing time and will receive equal coaching attention for the development and practice of baseball/softball skills. All players will be provided with ample opportunity to demonstrate skills during scheduled games. All players will be given the opportunity to experience the different positions in the field. After due consideration of all relevant factors including safety issues, equal effort will result in equal playing time.

By ensuring that all players are fairly and equally treated, we are confident that playing baseball in the DCBA leagues is a positive, exciting experience for everyone. DCBA strives to be a leader in maintaining a competitive program with rules that provide balanced playing time that develop the skills of players for all levels of playing ability.

The physical and moral welfare of the young people for whose benefit DCBA was originally organized shall remain paramount in all matters.
