With the 2008 "Flames Summer Classic" two weeks from the start, we are pleased to announce the dates for the 16U - 2009 "Flames Summer Classic" June 18 - 21.  With a strong field of 28 in Ohio for the 2008 tournament, I expect the 2009 16U tournament to be even bigger!  For more information you can e mail cincinnatiflames@sbcglobal.net .  I will start a list of teams at this time.  We had teams wait too long in '08, don't get shut out in '09!!!

The 28 team tournament for 2008 tournament was outstanding.  Not only did it include teams from IL, IN, OH, MI, PA, and WV but many were the premier teams of their area or state.  These are the types of comments we received about the tournament: "the competition was fierce", "From the pre-tournament communication, your accessibility during the tournament to the level of competition present, first class", having scores, pitching, etc posted asap after the games, is very refreshing from "other" tournaments we played in this year. First class!"

The championship game today with Middie Pride turned out to be a pitchers dual.  With the score tied 3-3 at the end of 3 both teams went scoreless until the 7th inning.  The Flames were able to plate 3 runs in the top half, Middie Pride came to bat and scored one run before loading the bases.  The next two batters were retired to give the Flames their first tournament championship of the 2008 season.
