Flames Baseball
Welcome to the Cincy Flames team website. We are a select baseball team competing in the Southwest Ohio League which is affiliated with the AABC league. We want to make the experience of playing baseball fun while building personal character and good sportsmanship. We will strive to improve each player's baseball skills and knowledge of the game as we grow together as a TEAM.
Wednesday, June 25 Flames announce tryouts for 2009 16U team The Cincinnati Flames announce tryouts for there 16U 2009 team. Starting at age 16 the Flames will have two (2) paid coaches that will take the team through age 18. Jay Basil, director of baseball for the Flames organization has announced the pitching coach for this team. Currently Jay is looking for a field coach. In addition to these two coaches, The Flames are proud to announce the addition of Darin Rieman to the coaching staff for 2009. Darin brings SEC baseball experience to the staff. Darin was a standout 3rd baseman at The University of Kentucky. Offseason workouts will be held at SouthWestern Ohio Baseball and Training(SWOBAT) facility. Tryouts are scheduled at SWOBAT for August 9, 2008, 10:00 - 11:30 and August 10, 2008, 1:00 - 2:30. For more information feel free to contact cincinnatiflames@sbcglobal.net . Thursday, May 29 Flames Announce 2009 16U Flames Summer Classic With the 2008 "Flames Summer Classic" two weeks from the start, we are pleased to announce the dates for the 16U - 2009 "Flames Summer Classic" June 18 - 21. With a strong field of 28 in Ohio for the 2008 tournament, I expect the 2009 16U tournament to be even bigger! For more information you can e mail cincinnatiflames@sbcglobal.net . I will start a list of teams at this time. We had teams wait too long in '08, don't get shut out in '09!!! Sunday, June 8 Flames - 2008 SWOL Multi-Sanction Tournament Champions The championship game today with Middie Pride turned out to be a pitchers dual. With the score tied 3-3 at the end of 3 both teams went scoreless until the 7th inning. The Flames were able to plate 3 runs in the top half, Middie Pride came to bat and scored one run before loading the bases. The next two batters were retired to give the Flames their first tournament championship of the 2008 season.

Champions Tuesday, July 24 2008 Flames Summer Classic Tournament How much better can the 2008 15U tournament be ? If interested in attending please email me at alexander_kevin@sbcglobal.net. This year's event is being scheduled for 6-12/6-15 and is already FULL with 28 teams, representing 8 different states & all parts of Ohio. An elite field of 28 teams have been assembled making it bigger & better than last year. The 28 team tournament for 2007 tournament was outstanding. Not only did it include teams from IL, IN, OH and KY but many were the premier teams of their area or state. At the time of the event many were either ranked in the top 5 of their state or some even ranked nationally. These are the type of comments we received about the tournament : "the competition was fierce", "From the pre-tournament communication, your accessibility during the tournament to the level of competition present, first class." "Having the scores, pitching, etc.. posted asap after the games, is very refreshing from "other" tournaments we have played in this year. First Class !" Stay tuned for future updates !
