4th Season Game Ends In A Tie

The Surge faced Beach FC on Sunday, 1 October, in a match that ended in a tie....1-1.   The Surge were the first on the scoreboard with a cross field kick from Thomas that Kasey shoved into the goal. (Good thing the side post was there to break his fall!). Late into the second half, Beach FC were awarded a free kick that bounced out of the goalies hands and over his head as a deflection. It was certainly an intense match-up.

United At The Goal
The Surge was involved in an intense match up Sunday, 10 September, against the Richmond Stikers. The team played hard and gave their all! The Surge went into the half with the score tied at 0-0. Unfortunately the Stikers were able to score off a penalty kick from just outside the box. The Surge never let up and played hard and fast until the ending whistle. The Surge will get another chance when we rematch the Stikers on October 29th.

SCRIMMAGES IN WILLIAMSBURG
The Surge scrimmaged against Williamsburg and Rush VCCL teams on Saturday, 4 August, at the Warhill Soccer Complex in Williamsburg. The competition was intense and the players performed great. The round robin games gave the coaches an opportunity to view the players in a competitive venue for the new season. The new players had a taste of what the competition will be like this year. Super way to start out the soccer year.
