Welcome to the official site of the Buckeye High School Varsity Football team. The Bucks finished their 3rd season in the Patriot Athletic Conference in 2007. They posted a 6-4 overall record and went 6-1 in Conference play capturing their 2nd PAC Stars Division crown in 3 seasons.

The Bucks have posted winning seasons for the past 5 seasons. They went 9-2 in 2002, 8-3 in 2003, and 6-3 in 2004, 10-1 in 2005 and 7-3 in 2006 for a 40-12 record coming into 2007. They made OHSAA State Playoff appearances in 2002, 2003 and 2005. Membership in the new Patriot Athletic Conference, consisting of ten teams, brings shorter bus rides. These last 3 seasons there were no bus rides to away games as all the sports are now funded by the Buckeye Boosters and not by the school district.

The team travelled to away cames in car caravans being driven by their parents. The Bucks opened the 2006 campaign with a first ever meeting with the South Urban Academy Bulldogs in a non-conference game and renewed an old acquaintance from the by hooking up with the Midview Middies for the 1st time since 1956.  In 2007 they played conference foe Clearview for the first time in school history.

Their 54th Season also saw the end of the Chris Medaglia era at Buckeye, as he has accepted the Head Coaching job at Valley Forge High School in Parma. The Bucks were 40-12-0 under Medaglia, making 3 Playoff appearances in his five year tenure.

On Thursday night November 8th the Buckeye Football awards were held at the high school for the 2007 Season.  This years winners of All PAC honors were:

First Team - Cody Muhek, Jake Wuensch, Darrin Read, Cory Reisner, Dan Novotny, Mike Kelly and Josh Varney.

Second Team - Josh Bennett, Tucker Gregor, Jesse Horton, Darren Boulton and Shawn Cordes.

Honorable Mention: Kelton Keller

Cody Muhek garnered "PAC Offensive Lineman of the Year".

Dan Novotny was the receiptient of the Coke Academic Award and also received the Iron Antler Award.  The player who received the 30th Annual Golden Buck Award was Josh Varney.  Congratulation to all the award winners and the 2007 Bucks on their 2007 Season and their 2nd PAC Stars Division Championship! Nice job everyone and GO BUCKS!

The Ohio Helmet project is a site that is trying to create and post the helmet graphics of all 711 high schools in the state of Ohio. We submitted the Bucks helmet pictures in 2002 and an actual decal in 2006.  That gave the helmet graphic a cleaner look and larger size, it is also used on stat and record pages. Thanks go out to Kevin Dudley, the man behind the project, who has been working hard on this site. It is interesting to look through so surf by and check out. We have also helped out by submitting Wellington, Highland, Avon, and Vermilion helmet pictures.
